New Car Buying Platform
MG Motor India has one of the biggest themed stalls at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo. Once inside the India Expo Mart Centre, you should visit hall no 15 where the British Marquee is showcasing a number of products from current to upcoming vehicles. They are also showing their innovation in terms of future technology which one should have a look at. For the moment let us throw light on models which you need to check out at this motor show.
Revealed just a couple of days ago, MG Motors announced the price of this SUV on the first day of the show. The 2023 MG Hector Facelift is now available in 5,6 and 7-seater configurations. Their price ranges from Rs 14.73 lakh to Rs 21.72 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
You’ll immediately notice the upgraded Hector’s larger chrome grille that makes it look fresh and new. While the headlights and DRLs stay the same, the front bumper gets a wider and slimmer air inlet. The side profile stays the same except for new chrome inserts on the door handles while the rear end gets ADAS badging and HECTOR lettering on the bootlid.
Inside, the Hector and Hector Plus Facelifts features an all-new dashboard with a dual-tone colour scheme and redesigned air vents. MG has also fitted a new 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is the largest in the segment. Other notable features include a digital instrument console, wireless charging, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and more. The top model of the Hector also gets level-2 ADAS capabilities with 11 assistance features.
Powertrain options remain the same as the outgoing version. What you get here is a 1.5-litre petrol and a 2-litre diesel engine. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual, DCT and CVT automatic gearbox.

The next product to check out is the MG4 EV. Based on MG’s new Modular Scalable Platform, the electric hatchback is already on sale in Europe. Bearing an aggressive design, the MG4 is striking with its blanked-out front end with no grille and a sculpted bonnet. The headlights and DRLs are all-LEDs with vertical fiber-optic stripes. The low beam and fog lamps are combined with LED turning lights. The rear end features a lightbar that runs the width of the car while the taillights have 172 LEDs each.
Feature-wise, the MG4 comes loaded with tech like a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, auto climate control, ambient lighting, and more. The EV also comes with ADAS tech like Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assistance, and Forward Collision Warning.
The electric hatchback will be offered with either a 51 kWh or a 64 kWh battery pack that powers a single-motor RWD system. The batteries can be fully charged in 7.5 or 9 hours using a 7.5 kWh charger respectively. Using a 150 kW DC fast charger, it can charge from 0 to 80 percent in just 35 and 39 minutes. Claimed range is 350 kms for kWh models and 450 kms for the 64 kWh variants.

The company has also displayed its MG5 Electric Estate, the first pure-electric station wagon. Its exterior design may look simple, but there are some eye-catching elements like the wraparound headlights with integrated DRLs, a sporty front bumper, dual-tone alloy wheels, and the T-shaped LED tail lights.
Moving inside, the MG5 Estate offers features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch instrument cluster, a 360-degree parking camera, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, auto climate control, and more. The estate also gets ADAS tech with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assistance, and traffic jam assistance.
The MG5 will come equipped with two battery pack options - a 61.1 kWh unit or a 50.3 kWh unit, both powering a single electric motor. Claimed range for the former is said to be 400 kms while the latter would be around 320 kms on a single full charge. Both variants can use an 87 kW DC fast charger to juice the battery packs to 80 percent in just 40 minutes.
The automaker is also showcasing the MG6 at the event. Design-wise, the sedan looks premium with its chrome highlighted MG grille flanked by angular LED headlights. It gets a sloping roofline for a coupe-like effect while the rear features wraparound LED taillights with a chrome strip running across the width of the car.
The sedan comes loaded with features like electrically adjustable front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, a sunroof, ambient lighting, leather upholstery, and more.
Powering the MG6 is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 169 bhp with 250 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is handled by a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
Besides these vehicles, the manufacturer is also showcasing the eHS Hybrid SUV, eRX5 electric SUV, MIFA9 - worlds first full-size pure electric MPV alongside the Marvel R compact SUV.
