5 Upcoming Car Launches in Q1 2023 in India

In the Indian automotive industry, a number of new car models are going to be introduced. While some of the popular upcoming cars are expected to be unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023, while the other models will be launching in India in the following months of 2023. 

The Toyota Innova Hycross, Mahindra XUV400, Maruti Baleno Cross, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and the facelift version of the Hyundai Creta are the new models expected to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2023. The end buyer stands to benefit a lot from these upcoming vehicles which will offer new looks, technology upgrades and additions to their feature list.

Toyota Innova Hycross

Innova Hycross

The Next Generation Toyota Innova Hycross has already been unveiled in India. In the Indian market, the New Innova Hycross is expected to make its debut in January 2023. This upcoming MPV is built on the new TNGA-C platform and is front-wheel drive.

The vehicle will offer two engine options; a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol delivering a maximum power output of 150 bhp and 187 Nm of peak torque. While the other would be a 2.0-litre petrol-hybrid with a hybrid motor producing a combined power of 183 bhp. 

The model will be available in five trims including G, GX, VX, ZX, and ZX (O). The G and GX variants will be available only with a petrol engine whereas the other trims will have a strong-hybrid powertrain. The upcoming model will have features like a 9-speaker JBL audio system, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, an 18-inch alloy wheel, and more.

Mahindra XUV400

Mahindra XUV400

Mahindra recently introduced its brand-new XUV400 in September 2022. The expected launch of this electric SUV is slated for January 2023. The New XUV400 EV SUV will be powered by a 39.4 Kilowatt-hour battery pack that can produce power figures of 150 bhp and 310 Nm torque. 

It is said that the vehicle can spirit from 0-100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds. It also gets a promised range of 456 kms on one single charge.

In terms of equipment, the four-wheeler will have a new grille with X-shaped inserts, projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a blacked-out grille, copper accents, a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six airbags, and an electric sunroof.

Maruti Baleno Cross

Baleno Cross

Another upcoming car launch, Maruti Baleno Cross is expected to make its debut at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023. Code-named YTB, the New Baleno Cross will be a rugged-looking alternative to the premium hatchback. Moreover, the model will have a coupe-like styling.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross is likely to reach showrooms in the first quarter of 2023. The model is expected to sit on the Heartect platform (the same as the regular Baleno) but will have plastic cladding all around. Besides, the crossover will be powered by a new 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.

Furthermore, it will have premium features which would include a 360-degree camera, a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple airbags, a Heads-Up Display, an automatic climate control system, a semi digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel with audio controls and more.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC

Another model in the list of upcoming car launches is Mercedes-Benz GLC 2023. Mercedes-Benz India has already unveiled the new generation GLC model which will be launched in January 2023. The new iteration brings design updates, a host of hybrid powertrains, and more features.

The powertrain of the GLC will feature a 48V mild-hybrid system with one petrol and two diesel units. The gasoline engine would be a 2-litre turbo petrol good for churning out 204 bhp. While the diesels would include a 2-litre unit in two different states of tune delivering 197 bhp and 265 bhp respectively.

The feature list on-board this SUV would include a 11.9-inch infotainment system alongside a 12.3-inch digital display which operates on a second gen MBUX UI. The German automaker has also equipped it with a slew of ADAS systems including Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Park Assist.

2023 Hyundai Creta Facelift

The Hyundai Creta Facelift could also be launched in the first quarter of 2023. The model will make its debut at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023 and its prices are most likely to be announced there. The New Creta has got some significant changes in its design and interior. This facelift version uses the same 1.5 litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.4-litre turbo petrol engines. We also expect the Creta's sibling, the KIA Seltos Facelift to make its debut at the Auto Expo.

In terms of features, the biggest update would be ADAS technology. The Creta Facelift will be providing safety equipment like Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control. In addition, the new upcoming SUV’s price is expected to be higher than the current generation.
