India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
The Indian car market is thrilled with the coming of several new cars in the next few months. Whether it is love for sedans, luxury, or electric SUVs, there seems to be something for everybody. In this blog, we take you closer to five upcoming cars that are to hit the roads in the next three months.
After Maruti Suzuki successfully launched the new-gen Swift recently, it will be soon introducing its Dzire sub-4-meter sedan of the new generation. The car was initially praised to arrive sometime in September or October this year but was later rescheduled to post-Diwali; now, the sale is scheduled for November 4, 2024.
The new Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z Series petrol engine producing 82bhp and 112Nm of torque. There's also an eco-friendly option of CNG that will come with 69bhp and 102Nm of torque in CNG mode. A 5-speed manual and an AMT are the transmission options available to customers.
The new Dzire is sporty and aggressive with a more slimmer nose, black grille, and leaner LED lights. On the inside, it will have a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, and advanced safety features like 6 airbags, ABS, and EBD. The company will give Dzire a factory-fitted sunroof.
Mercedes-Benz prepares to launch next week what is said to be the most sorted-after launch next week, the long-wheelbase E-Class luxury sedan. The new E-Class comes sleek with new technology and indulgent design features that redefine luxury sedans to a great extent.
Outside, it packs high-performance LED headlights and also boasts a new grille style which can be lit up, giving the model a sleek futuristic look. At the back, sleek two-part LED taillights mirror that trend, again putting its money on subtle sophistication. Inside, it puts on display premium materials and sophisticated tech like the 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and its 12.3-inch co-driver display.
The E-Class will feature several engine options. It shall have a 2-litre turbo-petrol unit churning 204bhp and a 2-litre turbo-diesel unit offering 197bhp. It will feature several airbags and advanced driver-assistive technologies, thus gaining its spot among the luxury sedans.
BYD India is launching its first three-row electric MPV eMAX 7, and the product promises to be more than just a successor to the e6. The new 7th generation eMAX will carry a new design, housing the LED headlamps and a new front fascia.
Inside, there is a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen to make life less monotonous while driving with the offering of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, and a bigger boot space of 652-litres.
Safety is quite paramount, especially given that the vehicle is expected to boast of advanced driver assistance systems. These will range from adaptive cruise control to autonomous emergency braking. The car is powered by a 71.8kWh battery. This would then provide for a range of about 530km on a single charge.
Honda is gearing up to bring a new generation of the Amaze, which is under test here in India. The new Amaze may hit the production lines at the end of this year and boast a complete makeover based on the City platform.
The Amaze's dashboard remains unchanged, though, like the Elevate. Its infotainment system gets an even bigger touchscreen display paired with a semi-digital instrument console. High-end trim features will include other goodies like a sunroof and automatic climate control, among many other things, and probably even the ADAS technologies of adaptive cruise control, among others.
The new Amaze would once again feature the old 1.2-litre petrol engine, which would put out 90hp with 110Nm of torque, paired with manual and CVT automatic transmission options. The new Amaze features a restyled design cue inspired by global Honda sedans and seems to be ready for competition in the compact sedan market.
Mahindra, however, has been teasing everyone with its future XUV e8. Its new electric SUV lineup is making the rounds, and the electric SUV is likely to break cover in early 2025; mass production will probably begin in December 2024.
The new Born electric platform of Mahindra will be the basis for the XUV e8. And it would boast a modern three-screen setup for the instrument console and infotainment unit. The other key features would be wireless connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, and an advanced driver assistance technology suite.
The XUV e8 is projected to have a battery pack between 60kWh and 80kWh, giving the car a range between 400 to 450 km. The power outputs are estimated between 230bhp and 350bhp. It is expected to top the list in the electric SUV market.
The five cars set to launch in this country are worth taking a closer look at since they embody innovation, luxury, and practicality. From the new Maruti Dzire to the new Honda Amaze to the luxurious Mercedes E-Class and then to the eco-friendly BYD eMAX 7, much is in store. Whether a sedan, a luxury vehicle, or an electric SUV, launches like these promise to meet the diverse needs of Indian consumers.
