It's festive season time and once again automakers have lined up a slew of new car launches for the coming months. For the month of September, multiple brands are slated to introduce models across various body styles, price points and segments. Today, we take a look at the upcoming cars and SUVs launching in September 2023.
Volvo revealed the C40 Recharge in India a couple of months ago in June. Now, the brand is set to finally launch the new EV in the country on 4 September. Volvo’s second EV offering in India. It will be offered in a single, fully loaded trim level at launch.
Powering the C40 Recharge is a 78 kWh battery pack that powers a dual-electric motor setup. It makes a combined 405 bhp with 600 Nm of peak torque. Volvo claims a fully charged range of around 530 km while the C40 Recharge can be charged from 10-80% in just 27 minutes using a 150 kW DC fast charger.
Expect the C40 Recharge to be priced over its sibling, the XC40 Recharge. The latter is priced at Rs 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Launching on 14 September, the new Tata Nexon facelift is arguably the most awaited launch of the month. With multiple spy shots and leaked images revealing its exterior and interior design as well as powertrain updates, the only thing left is the actual official unveiling by Tata.
Tata's popular subcompact SUV will get a comprehensive update with a new squared-off and upright exterior design. The interior has been overhauled as well. Key highlights include a new twin-spoke steering wheel, dual 10.25-inch screens, a Haptic Touch climate control panel, and more. In terms of powertrains, the new Nexon will retain its petrol and diesel engine options. However, Tata will add a new 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox to its lineup.
While prices are yet to be revealed, expect the new Tata Nexon to be priced at a slight premium over the current model, which ranges between Rs 8 lakh - Rs 14.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
BMW is gearing to introduce a new limited edition variant of the 2 Series Gran Coupe, dubbed the M Performance, on September 7. Changes will be largely cosmetic with M Performance parts like the grille, gear selector lever, and other M-specific parts. The exterior gets a new Black Sapphire colour while the interior gets a black and beige dual-tone theme.
There will be no changes to the powertrain. It will use the same 2-litre turbo-petrol motor that makes 173 bhp with 280 Nm of peak torque as the 220i. Transmission duties are handled by a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
BMW is highly likely to price the new 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance over the M Sport Pro trim, which is priced at Rs 45.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand has already started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 1.5 lakh.
Mercedes EQE SUV is slated to launch on 15 September. It will likely be offered in a single variant, namely the 350 4Matic. The EQE 350 4Matic uses a 90.6 kWh battery pack that is paired to a dual-electric motor setup. Combined, it pumps out 288 bhp with 764 Nm of peak torque.
