Honda Cars India recently revealed its all-new Elevate SUV globally, marking a strong entry into the mid-size SUV segment. According to the brand, this SUV is developed on the grand concept of ‘Urban Freestyler’. Bookings for this new SUV will open in July and the prices will be revealed at the year-end, most probably during the festive season.
With its bold entry, Honda Elevate is all set to take on popular models like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. In this story, we compare all three models to see how they stack up against each other.

Dimensionally, all these SUVs are positioned close to each other. While the Grand Vitara is the longest and the widest in the segment, it features the shortest wheelbase. On the other hand, the Honda Elevate has the longest wheelbase and the highest ground clearance among the SUVs in this comparison. The shortest car in this comparison is the Hyundai Creta which also has the lowest ground clearance of 190 mm.
Honda introduced its Elevate SUV with only one petrol engine; a 1.5-litre i-VTECH petrol engine that delivers a maximum power output of 119 bhp with 145 Nm of torque. Compared to the Honda, the Creta and the Grand Vitara both get a choice of two powertrains. While Hyundai provides its Creta with one petrol and one diesel engine option, Maruti has taken the route of cleaner propulsion by offering one mile hybrid petrol and one strong hybrid petrol engine with the Grand Vitara.
The same story continues with the transmission option. While one manufacturer offers only manual and CVT, the others offer manual, CVT and torque converter automatic gearbox options.

The all-new Elevate comes with a single-pane sunroof, distinguishing it from the Grand Vitara and Creta, which offer panoramic sunroofs. The Elevate also boasts of a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay same as Creta while Grand Vitara only offers a smaller 9-inch touchscreen system.
Other standard features on all these SUVs include wireless charging, cruise control, automatic climate control, and more. While Maruti and Hyundai offer ventilated front seats, Honda has decided to skip on this feature.
Making up for the lack of features on the Elevate, Honda is offering segment first Lanewatch camera and Level-2 ADAS system to enhance the safety of its SUV. Other common features in these three SUVs include 6 airbags as standard, Hill-Descent Control, ABS with EBD, Hill-Hold Assist and more.
During the global unveil of the Elevate, Honda did not reveal the prices. But, the expected price of the upcoming Elevate will be in the same range as its competitors (Rs 12 lakh to Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom). At present, the Grand Vitara is priced between Rs 10.70 lakh to Rs 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom) while Creta is being sold between Rs 10.87 lakh to Rs 19.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
