Mahindra recently launched the extended version of the Bolero Neo SUV in the market. Named Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, it is a 3-row SUV with a 9-seater configuration. Compared to its 7-seater version, the 9-seater Bolero Neo Plus receives more features and a powerful engine.
In this article, we will go through the top differences between both SUVs in terms of dimensions, features, engines, and more.
One of the significant differences between both SUVs is the length. While the Mahindra Bolero Neo measures 3,995 mm in length, the Bolero Neo Plus is 4,400 long. However, the width of both SUVs stand at 1,795 mm and with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm. Talking about height, the Bolero Neo is taller than the 9-seater version as it stands at 1,817 mm tall while the Neo Plus is 1,812 mm in height.
In terms of features, Bolero Neo Plus seems to win as it is loaded with more features than its smaller version. The 9-seater SUV gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system while its 7-seater version comes equipped with a smaller 7-inch touchscreen unit. However, the Bolero Neo has a cruise control feature which is not offered on Bolero Neo Plus. Some of the common features offered in both SUVs comprise an anti-glare IRVM, front & rear power windows, arms rest in the second row, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and a height-adjustable driver's seat.
Mahindra provides a 1.5-litre diesel engine for the Bolero Neo SUV while its bigger version gets a boosted 2.2-litre diesel unit. Mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the smaller SUV's engine can deliver the maximum power of 99 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the 9-seater Bolero Neo Plus's engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and can produce 121 bhp of power with 280 Nm of peak torque.
While the 7-seater Bolero Neo is available with 6 colour choices, the 9-seater version comes only with only 3 shades. Both Mahindra Bolero Neo and Bolero Neo Plus get Napoli Black, Majestic Silver, and Diamond White colour choices. However, the smaller 7-seater version is available with three mode shades named Highway Red, Pearl White, and Rocky Beige.
Most of the safety features are common in both SUVs including engine immobilizer, seat belt audio reminder (driver & co-driver), speed alert audio warning, 2 airbags, flip key, and ABS+EBD. However, some new features offered in the Bolero Neo Plus include a rear glass defogger, rear glass wash & wipe, and front fog lamps.
The Bolero Neo comes with four variants namely N4, N8, N10 R, and N10 (O) whereas its bigger 9-seater version Bolero Neo Plus is offered with two variants - P4 and P10.
Price for the Bolero Neo starts from Rs 9.90 lakh and goes up to Rs 12.15 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the base variant of the Bolero Neo Plus stands at Rs 11.39 lakh and its top-spec variant retails at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
