Maruti Suzuki, a brand renowned for its deep understanding of the Indian car market and Toyota, a brand synonymous with reliability, have come together to create a remarkable fusion in the country. This collaboration has led to the launch of numerous products and the latest in the line is the Maruti Suzuki Invicto. Despite Maruti’s Premium MPV sharing its foundation with the esteemed Toyota Innova Hycross, these vehicles possess a few differentiating factors that set them apart. Although, the Maruti Invicto and Toyota Innova Hycross share similar design, they have distinct differences in their appearance. While the Innova Hycross sports a signature Toyota face, the 2023 Invicto is provided with a revised grille pattern with twin chrome bars extending into the headlamps.
Compared to the 2023 Innova Hycross, the Invicto also get a different front bumper design with triangular-shaped side vents and faux skid-plate element. The alloy wheels on the Invicto also get a unique design and are smaller in size at 17-inches compared to the Hycross' 18-inch wheels. The rear design remains mostly unchanged, but the Maruti features the new Nextre LED tail-lamp seen in all NEXA cars.
On the inside, both the Maruti and Toyota models share an identical cabin layout, but there are some notable differences between the two. Step inside the Maruti Invicto and you'll be greeted by a captivating black dashboard accentuated by champagne-coloured surrounds, offering a touch of elegance.
On the other hand, the Toyota Innova Hycross presents a dual-tone black and brown colour theme with silver inserts for a refined interior ambience. The steering wheel of the Invicto proudly showcases the iconic Maruti logo, setting it apart from its Toyota counterpart. Moreover, the Invicto embraces distinctive seat upholstery compared to that of the Toyota Innova Hycross.
While the Maruti Invicto and Toyota Innova Hycross share many features, the Innova Hycross edges ahead with a slightly larger array of offerings. Both models provide amenities like a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, ventilated and power-adjustable front seats with memory settings and a 10.1-inch touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. They also sport a 7-inch digital driver's display for added convenience. However, when it comes to creature comforts, the Maruti Invicto falls short as it misses out on the immersive 9-speaker JBL sound system and the luxurious electric Ottoman seats for the middle row that the Toyota Innova Hycross provides.

The 2023 Innova Hycross and the Invicto are equipped with strong hybrid powertrains, combining a 2.0-liter petrol engine with an electric motor. Unlike Toyota Innova Hycross, the Maruti Invicto does not offer a petrol-powered engine option.
The petrol engine on the all-new Toyota Innova Hycross generates a respectable 172 bhp and 205 Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels through a CVT gearbox, ensuring smooth and efficient performance. Additionally, the petrol powertrain also provides an affordable entry point for the MPV in the market.
The Maruti measures 4,755 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and stands at a height of 1,790 mm with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Contrary to this, the Toyota Innova Hycross matches the Invicto in length and wheelbase but measures shorter in width and height by 5 mm.
The Toyota Innova Hycross is available in five variants: G, GX, VX, ZX and ZX (O) whereas the Invicto is offered in three different variants: Zeta+ (seven-seat configuration and eight-seat configuration) and Alpha+ (seven-seat). Talking about the price, the Toyota Innova Hycross is priced between Rs 18.55 lakh and Rs 29.99 lakh while the latter ranges from Rs 24.79 lakh to Rs 28.42 lakh. But in like-to-like comparison, the Invicto Zeta+ hybrid is over Rs 1 lakh cheaper than the Innova Hycross VX hybrid model.
