Both cars boast 1.2-litre engines but are in a different state of tune. The Maruti Swift CNG draws its power from a 1.2-litre Z-series three-cylinder engine with a single CNG tank of 60-litres. This engine pumps out 68.05bhp and 102Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Swift CNG has an ARAI-certified mileage of 32.85km/kg, up 6% over the earlier model. It measures 3860mm in length, 1735mm in width, and 1520mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2450mm. Even the boot space is decent at 268-litres.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG Duo gets a 1.2-litre bi-fuel engine that runs on both petrol and CNG. The power is slightly lower at 68.05bhp and 95.2Nm of torque, but it comes with dual CNG cylinders, which would help in increasing the overall efficiency. The Grand i10 Nios CNG has a 5-speed manual gearbox. It measures 3815mm in length, 1680mm in width, and 1520mm in height. The wheelbase is the same as that of the Swift at 2450mm. While the boot space is decent, it is not as commodious as in the Swift, at 260-litres.
The Swift CNG is equipped with a 7-inch infotainment Smart Play Pro, which is adequately packed with advanced connectivity features and ease of use. Convenience in terms of automatic climate control and rear AC vent provides a pleasant in-cabin experience. Further practicality comes in the form of a wireless charger and 60:40 split rear seats in the Swift CNG. It's a very safe family car, too, with six airbags, Electronic Stability Program+, and Hill Hold Assist. All in all, the Swift CNG is outstandingly safe for driving a family around.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG Duo features an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment setup, which sits larger and more modern in terms of connectivity. Projections are available on projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and LED tail lights that raise the visibility and aesthetic appeal of the car. There is an all-round rear camera for easy parking and easy maneuverability. As for safety, it gets six airbags, TPMS, ESC, and HAC on the list. On the offering, a dual CNG cylinder system in the Grand i10 Nios does come out to be a convenient add-on, with switching between the petrol and CNG coming out to be absolutely smooth.

Both the Maruti Swift CNG and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG are fantastic prospects in the market for those looking to have an affordable, fuel-economic drive without causing much damage to the environment. The bigger boot space of the Swift CNG plus mileage makes it stand at an edge. Given the price at which the Grand i10 Nios CNG offers entry, it's surprisingly more affordable than Swift CNG but simultaneously gives customers more touches of convenience in the form of a relatively larger touchscreen and dual CNG cylinders. The final decision probably depends on which feature and specification fit your preference and budget.
