Warranty on the battery packs of the Tata Punch EV and MG Comet is restricted to eight years. Prices start at Rs. 10.99 lakh and go all the way up to Rs. 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for Punch EV, while the MG Comet comes at Rs. 6.98 lakh and the top model of the same is priced at Rs. 9.23 lakh.
Range anxiety is a natural concern with electric vehicles and it is the most important factor that one considers before buying one. To put things into perspective, the Tata Punch EV comes in two iterations - Medium Range and Long Range. The Medium Range Punch EV has a maximum range of 315 kilometres, while the Long Range Punch EV has a range of 421 kilometres, the highest as compared to the other two cars. If your daily run comprises frequent travelling and long distances, the Long Range Punch EV is the ideal car as the battery range tends to reduce in real-life conditions, including weather and normal wear and tear that comes along over the course of time.
However, considering the rising number of cars in the country and increasing traffic, MG’s Comet EV presents itself as a great alternative as its compact dimensions of 2974 millimetres make it a breeze to navigate through the traffic. What also helps is the quietness in the cabin or reduced NVH as it is an electric automobile.
