Officially, Toyota Kirloskar Motors will pull the curtains off the Hyryder on the 1st of July 2022 and we expect the market launch to take place around September this year. The production of the vehicle is likely to start from August at the company’s facility Bidadi, Karnataka.
As seen in the official teaser, the Hyryder SUV will feature a new piano black front grille split by a chrome line, giving the vehicle a butch look. The front grille is flanked with twin LED DRLs, while the main LED headlight unit has been moved to the bumper. The front also gets a large skid plate at the bottom of the bumper. Moving to the sides, it will feature prominent hybrid badging on the front fenders along with a pillar mounted ORVM that houses the 360-degree camera. Towards the rear, the width of the car is accentuated by a silver line running horizontally across the boot.
The second teaser shared by the automaker gives a glimpse into the interior. Its cabin will feature a dual-tone theme and the dashboard would offer a silver line running right across. The top half of the dashboard along with the door trims comes finished in brown soft-touch leather with horizontal silver stitching. Other highlights include hexagonal air vents with piano black inserts and floating touchscreen infotainment unit with touch-based controls. Trying to save cost, Toyota seems to have borrowed the AC controls from the less expensive Glanza hatchback.
Other new features coming to the Hyryder include connected car technology that will enable customers to control various functions of the car along with voice command function.
Once launched, the Hyryder will be priced in the range of Rs 11 lakhs to Rs 18 lakhs (ex-showroom). The four-wheeler will rival the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and the Skoda Kushaq.
