India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
South Korean automaker, Kia Motors showcased the New KA4 (Carnival MPV) at this year's Delhi Auto Expo 2023. In comparison to India, the fourth-generation Carnival has already been on sale in the international markets for some time now. Now, recent spy shots suggest that our country will be getting the facelifted version of this MPV by next year. Further what we can tell you is that the vehicle was spied testing on roads under heavy camouflage, giving us a hint of its exterior and interior design.
Let us take a closer look at key upgrades on the vehicle.
Based on spy images, the upcoming Kia Carnival will feature new L-shaped vertical LED headlights with LED DRLs, a redesigned front bumper, and the iconic Tiger Nose grille which will be wider than before.
As for the side profile, not much is known due to the heavy camouflage. However, what we predict is the introduction of a new alloy wheel design. Towards the rear, the vehicle is most likely to provide L-shaped LED tail lights connected via an LED light bar.
In terms of size, the facelifted Carnival will be larger than its predecessor. The overall design seems to adopt a more SUV-like look.
The interior of the Kia Carnival Facelift is expected to offer two 12.3-inch displays, one for the infotainment system and the other for the instrument cluster. Additionally, the premium MPV is likely to get a redesigned AC alongside audio controls, front & rear dash cameras, a wireless charger, a rotary drive selector, an updated digital key, ambient lighting, and more.
Overseas, the model is offered in different seating configurations such as 7, 9, and 11 seat layouts. However, for the India-spec model, the seating layout is yet to be confirmed.
Currently, the international model comes powered by 3 engine options. These include a 3.5-litre petrol, 2.2-litre diesel and a 1.6-litre petrol-electric. In specific reference to the Indian market, we should expect to receive only the 2.2-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel unit paired to an automatic transmission.
Prices for the Kia Carnival Facelift are expected to range from Rs 26 lakh to Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, the MPV would compete against the likes of Toyota Innova Hycross in the segment.
