Maruti Suzuki’s mid-size SUV to debut on 20th July; Bookings likely to commence on the same day; Expected to come with a strong hybrid powertrain and AWD set-up; Will be sold through the NEXA dealership chain.
Maruti Suzuki is all set to unveil its mid-size SUV offering to the Indian market on the 20th of July 2022. Developed in association with Toyota, the new SUV will share components with the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Codenamed ‘YFG’ the SUV is likely to be called the ‘Vitara’ and manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant.
The Vitara will be based on Suzuki’s Global-C platform, that currently underpins several Maruti and Toyota SUVs including the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder. When revealed and launched it will be the only second SUV in its segment to feature a strong hybrid powertrain along with an AWD set-up.
The four-wheeler is expected to officially be launched around the festive season with deliveries likely to start soon after. The vehicle will be sold through the NEXA dealership chain and exported to the European and African markets as well.
When introduced, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara will rival the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder in its segment.
