India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
New-gen Maruti Dzire is all set to hit the roads on November 11, 2024. A new generation Dzire looks to raise the ante in India's fiercely competitive subcompact sedan market, where it will rival the Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura. The sedan comes with new design and feature-packed interior along with a highly fuel efficient engine.
The 2024 Maruti Dzire will be available with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol unit, churning out 80.87 bhp and producing 112 Nm of torque. It will be available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, both to offer quite amazing efficiency, the micromat fetching 24.79 km/l and the AMT at 25.71 km/l. Maruti has also added CNG variants, which claims to offer a mileage of 33.73 km/kg.
The Honda Amaze also boasts a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 88.76 bhp and 110 Nm. The two transmissions it offers are a 5-speed manual that gives 18.6 km/l and a CVT automatic that churns out 16.92 km/l. While the Amaze's engine is marvelous, Dzire's is more fuel-efficient than it is.
The Hyundai Aura comes with a 1.2-litre petrol unit that churns out 81.86 bhp and 114 Nm of torque. The car is available with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT. The Aura petrol delivers mileage of 20.5 km/l, and the same for CNG is 28 km/kg. In that respect, the same is relatively comparable to Dzire mileage, but for sure, its better variant is CNG.
The 2024 Maruti Dzire features an infotainment system housing a 9-inch touchscreen display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, auto AC with rear vents, and cruise control. It's also the first sedan in its class to sport a single-pane sunroof. Airbags, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, and 360-degree cameras are also to be featured with the car.
The other good spec in Honda Amaze is found with a 7-inch touchscreen, auto AC, cruise control, and paddle shifter in CVT variants. It doesn't miserly spare in essentials like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and ISOFIX child-seat anchors in matters of safety. Still, the missing sunroof and 360-degree camera do not denote useful practicality for daily use.
Hyundai Aura features an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, automatic AC, and a cooled glovebox. Six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, rear parking camera. Interiors were quite good in terms of space and comfort, the rear legroom and decent boot space, though not the 360-degree camera option.
The Maruti Dzire can be expected to be worth about Rs. 6.70 lakh ex-showroom. There will be four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and the top-of-the-line ZXi Plus. An impressive lineup with seven color choices is being offered with very competitive pricing.
The Honda Amaze is priced between Rs. 7.20 lakh to Rs. 9.96 lakh. The car comes in three trims: E, S, and VX, and is available in five colors. It is a little costlier than the Dzire. Then again, the brand's credibility for durability may ensure entry of those loyal Honda fans.
Hyundai Aura offers four trims of the variants. These are priced between Rs. 6.49 lakh to Rs. 9.05 lakh, ex-showroom. So, it matters little what kind of clients Hyundai is targeting; whether budget-friendly or feature-rich, there is something in Aura for every one of them.
