India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
Renault India has announced an ambitious plan to bring 5 new models to the country by 2027. This underlines the French carmaker’s commitment to the Indian market. At a media event held today, the brand also introduced the updated versions of their current selling models; the KWID, Triber and Kiger.
On being asked, the brand did not explicitly confirm the introduction of the All-New Renault Duster in the coming year. But according to their presentation, a new compact SUV is on the cards followed by a 7-seater SUV. Further, they also have intentions of bringing in an electric vehicle for local markets. This could be the KWID EV is what we believe.
Talking about the current lineup? The 2024 editions of the KWID, Triber and Kiger get added features and new prices. Let’s have a look:
Prior to the introduction, the Renault KWID was available in 7 variants. Now it is loaded to the brim with more features resulting in an expansion of the model line up that goes upto 9 trims. The new starting price of the hatchback now stands at Rs 4.69 lakh going up to Rs 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
Talking about the features, the RXL (O) trim offers an 8-inch touchscreen media navigation system, making it the most affordable hatchback in the country to offer this equipment. Furthermore, this variant is now available with an AMT gearbox, solidifying its position as the most budget-friendly automatic car in India. Notably, the hatchback prioritises safety with the inclusion of 14 standard features.
Beneath the hood, it retains its reliable 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, tuned to deliver 67bhp and 91Nm torque. This engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT unit.
Renault has brought in the updated Triber with 2 new variants alongside the existing 4 trims: RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ. In addition, the model gets a host of enhancements, including a cutting-edge digital instrument cluster inspired by the Kiger, a driver armrest for added comfort, a wireless charger, and powered ORVMs for easy adjustments.
It now brings to the table a new paint shade called Stealth Black. Mechanically the MPV remains the same, it offers a 1.0-litre petrol engine with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. New prices for Renault Triber start at Rs 5.99 lakh and go up to Rs 8.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
2024 Renault Kiger is now offered in a total of 13 variants. In comparison to earlier, there were 9 variants and now 4 new trims have been added to the lineup. On the inside, the SUV gets a new colour shade for the semi-leatherette seats, complemented by a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Noteworthy additions include bezel-less auto-dimming IRVM, red brake callipers, and a convenient welcome and goodbye function for the ORVMs. Under the hood, it offers a choice between a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor.
As for the prices, the 2024 Kiger now costs between Rs. 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
