India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
The Tata Curvv was one of the biggest highlights of the 2023 Auto Expo. With its fresh and eye-catching design, it quickly became one of the most anticipated upcoming Tata vehicles. Now, the latest spy shots have revealed the Curvv being tested on Indian roads for the first time. We take a closer look.
As you can see in the leaked pictures, the Tata Curvv test mule is fully covered in coverage. It even has a fake extension at the rear to disguise its coupe-like rear end. However, we did notice some design elements of the upcoming SUV. It features a fairly upright front end with a closed-off grille and maybe a full-width light bar just above it. The split headlights sit below it while the large air dam will take care of air intake duties. Moving to the side, the Curvv gets flush-fitting door handles and new alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets a steeply raked windscreen for the coupe-like silhouette, LED tail lights and a faux skid plate on the bumper.
While the spy shots didn’t reveal the Curvv’s interior, it is expected to remain identical to the concept. Notable highlights include a 10.25-inch infotainment system, fully-digital instrument console, twin-spoke steering wheel, connected car tech, new gear selector, rotary dial for drive modes, auto climate control and more.
Tata Motors is likely to launch the Curvv ICE before the EV model. It will likely get the new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor that was also showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new unit pumps out 122 bhp with 225 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a manual and maybe the dual-clutch automatic gearbox from the Tata Altroz.
The Curvv is expected to be launched by early mid-2024. Tata will likely price it somewhere around the Rs 12 lakh - Rs 17 lakh range.
