Tata Harrier EV - Launch by March 2025
Tata Sierra EV - Launch by end of 2025
Tata Safari EV - Launch in 2025
Tata Altroz EV - Launch in 2025-26
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Harrier EV will be introduced in our market by March 2025. The production-ready model is likely to be unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show in 2025. It will be positioned against the soon-to-be-launched Mahindra XEV 9e electric SUV Coupe. The pre-production version was showcased earlier this year at BMS.
Similar to the Harrier EV, the Tata Safari will also receive an electric derivative in the country. Both EVs will be based on Tata's new Acti.ev platform that also underpins the Curvv EV. This platform supports FWD, RWD and AWD systems. The new electric SUVs will come with dual-motor AWD setup. The new EVs are likely to be packed with a battery pack of around 80kWh with a claimed range of around 500km on a single charge.
Tata Motors will also enter the lifestyle SUV category with the Sierra EV. Likely to be launched in late 2025, the new Tata Sierra EV is expected to be offered in two seating configurations - the 5-seater and 4-seater lounge. The lounge variant will have two electrically adjustable independent seats at the back. It will also be manufactured on the Acti.ev architecture. The EV is likely to come in 2WD and AWD setup with later having dual-motor setup.
Tata Motors had showcased the Altroz EV in closer to production ready avatar at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It was speculated to be the first Tata EV in our market; that didn't happen. Now, the company is planning to introduce Altroz EV in our market sometime in 2025-26. It is likely to share its powertrain options with the Punch EV. The micro SUV is offered with two battery packs - 25kWh and 35kWh - offering an ARAI certified range of 315km and 421km, respectively.
