The Toyota Glanza has been designed to give a premium hatchback feel and touch in its segment, where one can get stylish designs and practicality. Its sleek design and efficient performance are popular among hatchback lovers. Why are Safety Ratings Important? When choosing a car, safety should be the most important consideration. Safety ratings give consumers insight into exactly how well occupants in a vehicle are protected in case of an accident. Safety is important in making informed decisions on which car to buy. Current Status on Safety Rating The Toyota Glanza has not undergone any official crash testing by the competent authorities. Though the Baleno, being its underbody sibling, has undergone testing, the expectations are that the Glanza will also be put through the Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) in due course. Essential Safety Features of Toyota Glanza Airbag System: This car has dual front airbags as standard and side/curtain airbags to protect against accidents. Braking Systems: The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) ensure stable and effective braking under any road conditions. Advanced Safety Features: Traction control, hill hold control, and electronic stability program are provided to enable the driver to keep the vehicle in better control and stability. 360 View Camera: It gives you a complete view of the surroundings. It helps to park and avoid obstacles while driving. Pretensioners & Force Limiter Seatbelts: It hold the occupants in place during sudden acceleration or braking. Additional Features: Provides ISOFIX child seat anchors with reverse parking sensors and head-up display for advanced convenience and safety features. Comparative Analysis The Toyota Glanza competes quite well in safety features against products from immediate rivals like the Hyundai i20 or the Tata Altroz. Glanza fails in terms of ADAS, which increasingly remains a part of newer cars. Conclusion The Toyota Glanza boasts decent safety features, such as a strong body shell, a full airbag setup, and advanced braking technologies. However, the lack of official safety ratings on its current models creates a tiny bit of doubt in the minds of potential buyers. Buyers are advised to make a safe choice and wait for official test results to come out in crash tests before deciding to buy any car. Safety is one of the major reasons to choose a vehicle for the assurance of the driver and other passengers. Also Read: Buy a Car Online: Essential Tips for a Smooth Purchase

Japanese auto manufacturer is geared up for the launch of a series of really cool SUVs in India in the next year alone. With big numbers lining up starting right from a new version of the popular Land Cruiser Prado to a 7-seater variant of Hyryder. Here's a look at some of the major launches that Toyota has lined up for the Indian market. Land Cruiser Prado The eagerly awaited launch is that of the new Land Cruiser Prado. This SUV was unveiled worldwide in 2023 and will make an entry into the Indian shores in the last quarter of 2025. In India, when it arrives, this version will be sold with the nomenclature "Land Cruiser Prado," while the same elsewhere in the world makes it to the nomenclature Land Cruiser 250. Being positioned below the flagship Land Cruiser 300 at Toyota promises greater off-road capability and a more luxurious feel. It will operate on the TNGA-F platform by Toyota, but this time with a larger cabin and more comfort features. More importantly, it will feature multi-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and a digital instrument cluster to suit the needs of those who crave luxury. Instead, the Prado uses the very same 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel as the Fortuner but mates it to a 48V mild-hybrid system for added efficiency. Some models of this SUV will also come with a 2.4-litre petrol-hybrid mill. Hyryder 7-Seater Another big launch in the market in 2025 will be the Toyota Hyryder. This 7-seater variant will sit on the Global C platform, which underpins the Grand Vitara and 5-seater Hyryder. It will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s new plant in Haryana’s Kharkhoda. The longer wheelbase version will allow Toyota to accommodate a third row seat, but technically it would remain a 5+2 seater ideal for large families. For the seven-seater Hyryder, the powertrain options will remain the same, with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine. Of course, the former is expected to bring an excellent balance in terms of performance and fuel efficiency. Another set of design changes will be done with this SUV, like a new design of bigger wheels, an even more angular front grille, and an updated rear tail lamp. Advanced safety technology will be adopted with ADAS or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Next-Gen Fortuner Mild-Hybrid System The next-generation Toyota Fortuner in the guise of a mild hybrid system will yet be much awaited. Being sold in overseas markets, the company claims that this model has managed to decrease fuel efficiency with lower emissions, thus yielding better compliance with new environmental norms. The newly introduced 2.8-litre diesel engine in the Fortuner MHEV is rumoured to offer power around 217 bhp with 550 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful SUVs in its segment. Although the company hasn't fixed an exact date for its new launches in India, one to look out for will be the Fortuner MHEV, to arrive on the horizon in early 2025. It will boast upgrades such as a large infotainment system with a touchscreen, a 360-degree camera, and the ADAS suite. The price is anticipated to run between approximately Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 53 lakh. FJ Cruiser (Mini Land Cruiser) The other smaller, lifestyle-oriented SUV that Toyota is reportedly working on has a tentative nomenclature of the Land Cruiser FJ and will be positioned below the Fortuner in its product portfolio. Expected to emerge by the end of 2024, the FJ Cruiser will feature a 2.8-litre turbodiesel unit offered with mild-hybrid technology to accelerate the fuel efficiency profile while creating a more amiable ambient for driving. It will be a longer vehicle and could take inspiration from the Compact Cruiser EV concept car, with lines generally running in straight trajectories, flared wheel arches, and a boxy look. One possibility that has been floated is it could be positioned at a price below its sibling, the Fortuner, thus making it even more of a competitive proposition for Indian buyers. These SUVs from Toyota will definitely prove to be a perfect blend of luxury, performance, and technology in the markets of India. Hence, they are likely to find a place in the hearts and garages of all SUV enthusiasts across India. With this promising lineup ahead, Toyota seems all set to rule the SUV market in India for the next couple of years. Also Read: New Maruti Suzuki Dzire Vs Swift Vs Baleno - Comparison
The surprise for all off-road enthusiasts came at the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas from Toyota - a new Land Cruiser ROX. With its new open-air rugged look and feel, it renews the image of the traditional Land Cruiser while maintaining elements of its heritage. Born from Toyota's CALTY design studio, this new model will be on the Land Cruiser 250 (similar to the Prado). One could easily distinguish the ROX due to its bold convertible roof and utility-focused design. Thus, it will become one of the freshest contenders against the Jeep Wrangler within the off-road adventure landscape. Land Cruiser ROX Features The Land Cruiser ROX is engineered for an unusual "Recreation Open Experience" (ROX) in a line of dramatic design and engineering enhancements. The rear D-pillar had been deleted, and a short bed, like in any small pickup-style SUV, existed, but the soft top roof stretched from the front to the back of that model, offering a fully open-air experience. The body change halfway down the entire length makes it show more than Toyota really was after there's something more utilitarian and brash than the previous version. For ruggedness, the ROX features custom steel bumpers, widened fenders, and 18-inch wheels with large off-road tires. The "skeleton" doors and integrated roof rack with molle panels offer further storage space, which goes along with the vehicle's rugged look. Inside, Toyota has equipped the ROX with durable orange leather seats, safety kits, and 3D-printed components to complement its outdoor look. Performance and Build Despite keeping the hybrid engine of 2.4 liters to that of the Land Cruiser 250, the ROX sports TRD-customized suspension with a 4-in lift and a wider track on all four sides by as many as 8 inches on this ride. This sets stability really high in trying very rough terrain. Its capacity coupled with the nature of the iconic 4x4, ROX might indeed shine bright as an off-road monster and tread varied challenging terrains. ROX Vs. Jeep Wrangler Because the Land Cruiser ROX has an open design and a focus on off-road performance, it will directly compete with Jeep's Wrangler. Its rugged design coupled with the 4WD power has long made the Wrangler the favorite off-road vehicle, but Toyota gives this classic design a modern twist with a convertible-style top and renowned Toyota durability. Although Toyota has not publicly denied the production of ROX, its launch might already be generating buzz, with the potential to turn into a limited-production adventure vehicle. Toyota is improving the Land Cruiser legacy as it leans into its adventurous roots with such concepts as the ROX and invites this new generation of enthusiasts to explore the outdoors with flair and strength.
