Skoda Auto India announced to re-open bookings of base Kylaq Classic variant from 27 January onwards. The compact SUV has attracted interest enough from the Indian market. Deliveries are likely to start this coming week for the test drive that would start the following week in several regions across the nation.
Kylaq Classic is the base variant, which is priced at Rs. 7.89 lakh and top-of-the-line model goes all the way to Rs. 14.40 lakh, ex-showroom. The sub-compact SUV Skoda Kylaq has taken the market by storm with over 10,000 bookings in just 10 days since official bookings started. That works out to almost 1,000 bookings a day. The brand will deliver initial batch of 33,000 units by May.
Under the hood of Skoda Kylaq sits a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol mill churning 114bhp and 178Nm of torque. The car also gets a 6-speed manual along with an auto torque converter as standard. But, when the efficiency is looked into, one finds that in the case of the manual of the Kylaq, its performance is fabulous at 19.68kmpl, where the automatic Kylaq could do 19.05 kmpl, this means it'll save the buyers money.
The car has been designed following Skoda's 'Modern Solid' philosophy to be sleek externally, with LEDs for headlamps and short overhangs, supplemented by LED taillights. Shared platform with Skoda Kushaq and Slavia guarantees a solid basis for driving comfort.
The Kylaq offers tons of features-some of these features have even been carried forth from the Kushaq, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-the cabin houses the complete convenience kit of modern motoring, so there's also a dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel as well as six-way electrically adjustable seats plus ventilated front seats and leatherette upholstery. The SUV also has a cruise control system, an electric sunroof, and a Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, which would make the driver experience more technological.
