Renault Kiger

The Renault Kiger is a feature-packed subcompact SUV that is designed to offer a comfortable and convenient driving experience. It shares its platform with the Nissan Magnite, both of which are built on the Renault-Nissan alliance's CMF-A+ platform. This platform is a modular architecture designed specifically for the development of subcompact cars and SUVs.

Design Highlights

The Renault Kiger provides a bold and modern exterior design. This is demonstrated by the SUV’s front grille offering chrome highlights and a sculpted nose that makes it look muscular and aggressive. Further the presence of sharp and sleek LED headlamps alongside LED DRL’s plus a skid plate add character to the front end. 

To the sides, the Kiger provides flared wheel arches, muscular shoulder lines, roof rails, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels alongside black plastic cladding all round the four-wheeler. 

Towards the rear, the New Kiger gets a roof mounted spoiler, shark fin antenna, boomerang shaped LED tail lights, chrome bits and a skid plate. Overall the design is a perfect combination of sportiness, ruggedness and modernity. 

Renault Kiger Interior and Features

Interior: The Renault Kiger offers a dual-tone interior with stylish fabric upholstery. The cabin feels practical and modern featuring a well laid out dashboard. The use of plastic and different colour material inserts provide the inside a premium and upmarket look. For storage, the SUV provides a spacious glovebox and door pockets.

Features: The Renault Kiger provides several features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, driver seat height adjustment, a rear view camera, USB smartphone replication, Push Start/Stop, a wireless charger, auto AC and electrically adjustable ORVMs.

Other equipment on board includes a 60/40 split rear seat, interior ambient illumination with control switch, height adjustable tilt steering, auto up down - driver power window with anti-pinch and more. 

Safety: The Renault Kiger has been awarded a 4-Star Safety Rating by Global NCAP. It therefore gets 4 airbags, speed sensing door lock, a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, front parking sensors, ABS with EBD, brake assist, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

The Renault Kiger is available in 15 trims: RXE, RXE+, RXT+ and RXT(O)+. Renault Kiger prices start at Rs 609995 whereas the top-end trim costs Rs 1122995 (ex-showroom). 

Engine and Specification

The New Kiger provides two petrol engine options. First is a 1.0-liter SCe petrol unit that produces a maximum power output of 71 bhp with 96 Nm of peak torque. It comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). 

The second one is a 1.0-liter turbo petrol mill that delivers 100 bhp and 160 Nm of peak torque. Power is transferred to the wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox or a X-TRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

Both engines offer Eco Mode, which helps in fuel-efficient driving. The car's turbo petrol power plant offers superior power and performance, providing excellent acceleration and top-class drivability. 

Colour Options

The Renault Kiger is available in 6 different colours: Stealth Black, Radiant Red, Moonlight Silver, Caspian Blue, Mahogany Brown and Ice Cool White.

Renault Kiger Mileage

Renault Kiger delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figure of 20 kmpl for the manual transmission while for the CVT gearbox it returns 17 kmpl followed by 19 kmpl in the case of the AMT.
