The SUV is available in two broad variants - Dynamic Line (Comfortline, Highline, Topline, GT Line) and Performance Line (GT, GT Plus, GT Plus Sport) and in total of 15 variants. The VW Taigun is available in the price range of Rs. 1169900 and goes up to Rs. 1973900 (ex-showroom).

The Dynamic Line's Highline version is most value-for-money option in the MODEL line of cars. It provides core features with a price balance and some comforts, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen, connected car tech, and safety-related aspects like electronic stability control and six airbags.

Volkswagen Taigun Mileage

The VW Taigun 1.0L MT and AT claim to offer an ARAI certified mileage of 19.87kmpl and 18.15kmpl, respectively. The 1.5L turbo version delivers 18.61kmpl when paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The turbo DCT model delivers 19.01kmpl. The 1.5-litre unit has a cylinder deactivation feature, which shuts off two cylinders at low loads for better fuel efficiency.

The VW Taigun is available with two turbo petrol engines including a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder TSI and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder TSI. While the former is good for 113.42bhp and 178Nm of torque, the 4-cylinder turbo engine churns out 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is available as standard. Other gearbox options include a 6-speed torque convertor automatic with 1.0L turbo petrol and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) with 1.5L turbo engine. 

Boot Space and Dimensions

Dimensionally, the new Taigun SUV is 4221mm long, 1760mm wide and 1612mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2651mm. The mid-sized SUV has a ground clearance of 188mm, while the fuel tank has 50-litres capacity. It offers a luggage carrying capacity of 385-litres, which is good enough to accommodate 3-4 bags.
