Jeep Wrangler

Jeep Wrangler is a utilitarian off-road focused SUV that is currently on sale in India. A direct descendant to the Jeep’s CJ series models, the Wrangler uses a body-on-frame construction. The model is currently in its fourth generation, produced locally in India and exported to many international markets.

Jeep Wrangler: Exterior

The Wrangler exterior design is iconic and reminiscent of the Willys MB and Jeep CJ models from the 1980s. The off-road SUV gets a squared-off muscular front look with the iconic 7-slat grille and round headlamps. 

Other unique bits on the four-wheeler include a chunky bumper with body cladding and squared-off wheel arches that house the large 18-inch alloy wheel. Towards the rear, the new model gets a horizontally opening boot with spare wheel mount and a hinged glass partition that can be operated separately.

Jeep Wrangler: Interior and Features

Interiors: On the inside, Wrangler is a functional interior layout with a dashboard finished in plastic. The doors and the windscreen can be removed while an all-black interior with leather upholstery is easy to maintain.

Features: The Wrangler provides features such as an analogue instrument cluster, a digital MID, 8.4-inch touchscreen system that gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, off-road display mode among others. The dashboard is also provided with a plethora of switches that are used to control everything from the AC to the 4X4 system.

Safety: In terms of safety, New Wrangler gets up to 4-airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear parking camera, ESC, hill start assist and select speed control among other basic equipment. The off roader is also crash tested by Euro NCAP.

Jeep Wrangler: Price and Variants

Jeep Wrangler’s price in India starts from Rs ₹64.08 Lakhs* and extends up to Rs ₹67.81 Lakhs* (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of 2 variants: Rubicon and Unlimited.

Engine and Specification

It comes powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 268 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. This powerplant is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission and full time 4X4 system (Selec-Trac on the Unlimited and Rock-Trac on the Rubicon).

The New Wrangler measures 4,882 mm in length, 1,894 mm in width and 1,838 mm in height having a wheelbase of 3,008 mm. The Sports Utility Vehicle gets an 81-litre fuel tank and up to 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Wrangler returns an ARAI Certified fuel efficiency figure of 12.1 kmpl.

Colour Options

Jeep Wrangler is available in 5 different colours options. They include Black, Granite Crystal, Sting Grey, Firecracker Red and Sarge Green.
