Honda Cars India entered the highly competitive compact mid-size SUV segment with the Honda Elevate in September 2023. The SUV has received a positive response from car buyers achieving a constant sale of over 4,000 units per month. The SUV comes with a boxy design with modern styling elements, offering a big SUV-like appearance on road.
The interior of the Elevate is designed on Honda's "Man Maximum Machine Minimum '' philosophy. The SUV offers the segment-leading legroom and knee room space for all occupants. It is powered by a tried & tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine with manual and CVT gearbox options. Honda has confirmed that the Elevate will receive an electric derivative in India by 2026.
This mid-sized SUV is available in 18 variants - and in single powertrain and two transmission options. Except for the SV trim, all trims are offered with manual and CVT automatic gearbox options. The Honda Elevate is available at a starting price of Rs 1169000 which goes up to Rs 1973000 for the top-end variant (ex-showroom).
The Honda Elevate mid-sized SUV is equipped with a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay and a single-pane sunroof. The SUV also comes fitted with a lane-watch camera, a reverse camera, a wireless phone charging and 6 airbags. The SUV comes fitted with an advanced driver assistance system with multiple safety features.
Dimensionally, the new Honda Elevate is 4312mm in length, 1790mm in width and 1650mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2650mm. The SUV has a ground clearance of 220mm, which is the largest in the segment. It offers a ground clearance of 458-litres, which can be further extended by folding the rear seats.
For safety and security, the new Honda Elevate gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD & brake assist, brake override system, vehicle stability assist with electronic stability & traction control, and hill start assist as standard. It also comes with a lane-watch camera and a rear parking camera.
The Elevate also comes fitted with ADAS tech with features like a collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, road departure warning and automatic high beam assist.
The new Elevate is powered by a tried & tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the City sedan. This engine churns out a maximum power of 121PS and a peak torque of 145Nm. For transmission duties, the SUV gets a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. It also gets 7-speed paddle shifters with the CVT automatic unit.
The Elevate petrol manual version is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 15.31kmpl. On the other hand, the CVT version delivers 16.92kmpl.
The Honda Elevate comes in ten colors, including three dual-tone options. The monotone colour options include Phoenix Orange Pearl, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic and Meteoroid Grey Metallic.
The Phoenix Orange Pearl, Platinum White Pearl and Radiant Red Metallic are available in dual-tone shade with Crystal Black Pearl roof option.
The Honda Elevate mid-sized SUV is positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, VW Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq.
