Cars and SUVs Launching in March 2024

The month of March heralds the arrival of cutting-edge automotive technology and design in the Indian automobile market, with several manufacturers poised to introduce exciting new models. Let's delve into the technical intricacies of four highly anticipated vehicles set to launch this month. BYD Seal Showcased earlier in the Delhi Auto Expo 2023, the BYD Seal gathered a lot of interest. This model competes with the Tesla Model 3 internationally and gives tough competition to it. BYD promises the Seal to have a range of 570 kms on a single charge. It comes equipped with a 82.5 kWh battery pack. The battery itself can be charged at 150 kWh as it takes 37 minutes to top up from 10 to 80 percent. As for performance, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds. Featuring a rear-axle mounted motor, the EV is said to deliver a maximum power output 230 bhp with 360 Nm of torque. Did you know BYD also supplies batteries to a lot of major other EV manufacturers including Tesla and is also the biggest EV manufacturer in the world? Hyundai Creta N-Line Hyundai Motor India has been giving the N-Line treatment to its cars lately and the most successful model of the brand is set to get it too. The Creta N-Line will feature the same 1.5 litre Turbo petrol engine producing a power output of 158 bhp and 253 Nm Torque. It will come mated to a 7 speed DCT or 6 speed manual transmission. The compact SUV will host plethora of cosmetic changes on the outside including more aggressive bumpers, redesigned grill, body cladding, N badges, roof mounted spoiler, twin tip exhausts, 18-inch alloy wheels to name a few. Inside you will get the N-Line steering wheel, red accents throughout, contrast stitching and a restyled gear lever. Hyundai might give this vehicle a retuned suspension setup for a firmer ride and more engaging driving experience. As the name suggests, this variant will be blackened out from the outside to the inside. The Tata badge, front grill, roof rails, bumpers and alloy wheels will all be black in colour. Inside you will get to see a blacked out treatment for the roof liner, seats, dashboard and the steering. Dark Edition logos will be visible throughout the SUV. If Tata is feeling generous, it might offer a feature or two extra which might not be available in the current Tata Nexon Facelift so stay tuned for that! Mahindra XUV 300 Facelift Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to launch the long awaited facelift of its XUV300. You can expect a completely redesigned exterior with restyled bumper, lights, bonnet and rear tailgate. BYD eMAX 7 Launching on October 8 - Panoramic Sunroof, 652 Litre Boot Space

BYD India has confirmed the launch of the eMAX 7 on October 8. The Toyota Innova Hycross rival is a successor to the e6 MPV and will be the Chinese brand’s first three-row vehicle here. Notably, the e6 was its first vehicle in India and was introduced as a commercial vehicle. Unlike the e6, the BYD eMAX 7 will be made available to private buyers as well. Going by reports, it will boast extra features and an upgraded battery pack for extended range. #MarutiSuzuki BYD eMAX 7 - Exterior & Interior Highlights While the overall silhouette remains the same, new are the front fascia, alloy wheels and tail lights. The LED headlamps are placed over the DRLs and the bumper gets chrome touches and contoured air vents. Further, the chrome bridge between the lights has a satin finish and houses the ‘BYD’ lettering. We also spotted a new design for the alloy wheels that appeals to the eye. At the back, wraparound LEDs have been added. #Tata BYD has refreshed the dashboard layout by adding a bigger 12.3-inch floating touchscreen, which is placed higher than the conventional in-built ones. The unit will also get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Its central console has been upgraded with a tweaked multi-function steering wheel, switchgear, drive selector and two wireless chargers. For creature comfort, a 360-degree surround view camera, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, cruise control and powered tailgate will be offered. The former seating type will feature captain seats in the second row and will be targeted at those who want to be chauffeur-driven. There will also be new seats finished in leatherette to up the luxury quotient of the cabin. #ToyotaInnova BYD eMAX 7 - Safety Features We expect the MPV to house ADAS or advanced driver assistance system features like blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and lane assist. BYD eMAX 7 to Come With 6-and 7-seat Options, 530km Range

The electric Utility Vehicles are gaining traction in our market, which is evident from the arrival of the new MG Windsor EV. This electric CUV or Crossover Utility Vehicle has been priced aggressively at Rs 9.99 lakh + Rs 3.5 per km battery rental. Not just MG Motor India, BYD India and Kia Motors India will also launch their respective electric utility vehicles.  BYD India will introduce the new eMAX 7 electric MPV, which is nothing but the significantly updated e6 MPV. This model is already on sale in select international markets where it is called BYD M6. What's interesting is that the new BYD eMax 7 will have more features, a versatile seating option and an upgraded battery pack.  BYD e-MAX 7 - 6-and 7-seater MPV The outgoing BYD e6 is available as a 5-seater electric MPV. However, the new BYD eMAX will be offered with both six-and seven-seat layouts with the former having captain seats in the second-row. The MPV will have newly designed seats along with new leatherette upholstery to offer a more premium feel.  Design & Interior Highlights The new BYD eMax 7 receives cosmetic design changes. It sports newly designed LED headlamps with LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), new front bumper with contoured air vents, and chrome garnishing on lower parts of the bumper. The electric MPV houses a new satin chrome trim that connects the two headlamp units. It also houses the BYD Lettering. The rear has new wraparound LED tail-lights, and a tweaked bumper with new chrome treatment. It also comes with newly styled alloy wheels.  The new BYD eMax comes with a revised dashboard layout that houses a larger 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. The central console is revised to offer two wireless charging pads, new switchgears and new drive selector. It also gets a newly styled multi-functional steering wheel. In terms of features, the MPV gets a 360-degree surround view camera, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered tailgate and cruise control.  The new MPV is also likely to receive an advanced driver assistance system with features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and others. For safety and security, the BYD eMax gets multiple airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, and others.  BYD eMAX 7 - Battery Specifications & Range In the international markets, the electric MPV is available with two battery pack options - a 55.4kWh and a 71.8kWh. While the former offers a range of 420km, the bigger battery pack delivers a range of up to 530km on a single charge. It is early to comment whether a smaller battery pack option will be offered in the India-spec model.  The MPV with smaller battery offers 163hp and 310Nm of torque. The power output increases to 204hp with a bigger battery. As a reference, the current e6 with 71.8kWh battery offers 95hp and 180Nm of torque.
