BYD eMax 7 Lacks These Features Available in Innova Hycross

BYD India has recently launched its first three-row electric MPV, eMAX 7, at an introductory price of Rs 26.90 lakh. The new model is the facelifted version of the earlier BYD e6 and competes with popular options such as the Toyota Innova Hycross, which offers hybrid and traditional engines. Although the BYD eMAX 7 does come with some upgrades, it still leaves out some of the features the Innova Hycross offers and thus may sway buyers in the segment. Key Features Omitted by the BYD eMax 7 Bigger Driver’s Display: The digital driver's display is 7 inches in size and provides crucial information in a clear format. This feature does not exist in the eMAX 7, which will have a different driving experience for users who rely more on the comprehensive dashboard for information. Seating Comfort: Innova Hycross is the one that provides the best comfort in seating as it contains powered Ottoman seats in the second row so that the passengers can stretch their legs. But this option is not available in eMAX 7. For the family who would be embarking on long trips, it might become a letdown. Memory Seats: This feature is very convenient, especially for families where there are several drivers using the same car. The Innova Hycross memory seats let the driver save their favorite position. Unfortunately, this is not available in the eMAX 7. Boot Space: Innova Hycross offers an excellent boot space of 991 litres with the third row folded down, making it practical for families with lots of luggage. eMAX 7 offers 652 litres of boot space, which may not be enough for larger families or longer trips.   Powertrain Comparison The BYD eMAX 7 comes with two options for the battery, and they are a 55.4 kWh battery, which provides a range of 420 km and a 71.8 kWh battery, which increases the range up to 530 km. It is powerful enough with up to 204 bhp and 310 Nm of torque for an electric MPV. But, the other way around, on Innova Hycross's end, it boasts 2-litre petrol hybrid and the ranges begin at up to 183.45 bhp and deliver impressive efficiency that reads at 23.24 kmpl. BYD eMAX 7 Electric MPV Launched at Rs 26.90 Lakh - 530 km Range, ADAS

BYD India has officially launched the eMAX 7 at an introductory starting price of Rs 26.90 lakh, its first three-row electric MPV to the Indian market. For the unversed, the eMAX 7 is a facelifted version of the popular BYD e6 (now discontinued), which was on sale in India for nearly three years. The new model comes with a host of upgrades, including a refreshed design, added features and enhanced performance. Positioned as a rival to the ICE Toyota Innova, the eMAX 7 is available for private buyers, unlike the e6 which was initially launched as a commercial vehicle. BYD eMAX 7 - Exterior & Interior Highlights The eMAX 7 retains the same profile as the outgoing e6 but features several styling tweaks to give it a modernised appearance. These updates include sleeker headlamps, a slimmer enclosed grille, revised bumpers and wraparound LED tail lights. It also sports new alloy wheels that add to its visual appeal. At the front, the chrome accents, contoured air vents and the satin-finished chrome bridge with BYD lettering give it a fresh face. Inside, BYD has introduced a bigger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen (rotatable), positioned higher for easier access and equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other interior updates include a revamped central console with a multi-function steering wheel, switchgear, drive selector, and two wireless chargers. Notably, the panoramic sunroof adds a sense of spaciousness and luxury to the cabin. Ventilated front seats, a 360-degree surround-view camera and a powered tailgate round off the comfort features. BYD eMAX 7 - Three-Row Seating Options The eMAX 7 introduces a three-row seating layout, available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. The 6-seater variant features captain seats in the second row, catering to those seeking a more luxurious and chauffeur-driven experience. Leatherette upholstery adds to the overall premium feel, while the 652-litre boot space ensures ample storage for long journeys. BYD eMAX 7 - Enhanced Safety and Performance BYD has equipped the eMAX 7 with advanced safety features, including ADAS - blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and lane departure assist. Other standard safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESC (Electronic Stability Control). It comes with two battery packs - 55.4kWh and 71.8kWh. On a single charge, the smaller battery is good for a range of 420km whereas the bigger cell pack returns a range of 530km.  The larger battery pack offers a range of up to 530km and outputs 204bhp with 310Nm of torque. In comparison, the outgoing e6 delivered 94bhp and 180Nm of torque with a range of 500km.  Also, read Tata Punch, Curvv EVs to Get BaaS Option Like MG Windsor EV
