Latest Update - the 2025 Kia Carens Clavis has been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This premium MPV is available in 7 broad variants and 3 engine choices. It is based on the Carens, but gets more features, new Kia design language and more tech features.
The Clavis is offered with 3 engine choices including a 113bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, a 157bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol and a 114bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel. The Kia Clavis diesel range starts at Rs 13.50 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
The Clavis MPV is available in 7 broad trim levels - HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O), HTX and HTX - and in total of 20 variants. The Kia Clavis price in India starts at Rs 1149900 and goes up to Rs 2149900, ex-showroom.
The Kia Carens Clavis is a premium 3-row MPV, which is equipped with several segment-leading features. It is packed with segment-first LEVEL 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite, front and rear parking sensors and panoramic sunroof.
In terms of features, the new Clavis gets Kia digital Tiger face with diamond finish decor, LED headlamps, Star Map LED connected tail-lamps, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, and dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
The MPV gets dual panoramic display incorporating a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch digital driver display. Interior features include infotainment-temperature control swap switch, 4-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, front ventilated seats, smart pure air purifier with AQI display, Bose premium sound system with 8 speakers and others.
The new Clavis is equipped with 18 standard safety features including 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), rear occupant alert system, VSM, Hill-assist control, vehicle-stability management, ABS with EBD, brake assist system, 360-degree surround view camera and all-wheel disc brakes.
The new Clavis comes equipped with ADAS LEVEL 2 with 20 autonomous safety features. The ADAS features include forward collision warning and avoidance assist, smart cruise control with Stop & Go, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, high beam assist, lane following assist, leading vehicle departure alert, safe exit warning and others.
The Kia Clavis is available with 3 engine options including, a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol and a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel. The naturally-aspirated engine is capable of producing 113bhp and 144Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The 1.5L turbo petrol engine is the same unit that also powers the Kia Seltos. This engine is capable of producing 157bhp and 253Nm of torque. Gearbox choices include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and a 6-speed iMT.
The diesel version gets the 1.5L CRDi unit that powers the Seltos, Sonet and Carens. Known for offering refinement and fuel efficiency, the diesel engine produces 114bhp and 250Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard, while a 6-speed torque convertor automatic unit comes as an optional.
The Kia Clavis 1.5L petrol is claimed to offer a certified mileage of 15.34kmpl. On the other hand, the turbo petrol model delivers 15.95kmpl with manual and iMT. The same powertrain with dual-clutch transmission is claimed to offer a mileage of 16.66kmpl.
The Clavis diesel with 6-speed manual delivers an impressive mileage of 19.54kmpl. Its automatic version returns an ARAI certified fuel economy’s of 17.50kmpl.
The new Kia Clavis is available in eight exterior colour options including Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Clear White, Pewter Olive, Gravity Gray, Aurora Black Pearl, Ivory Silver Gloss and Sparkling Silver.
In terms of proportions, the new Kia Clavis is 4,550mm in length, 1800mm in width and 1,708mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,780mm. The MPV has a fuel tank of 45-litres capacity.
The lower-spec variant gets 15-inch steel wheels wrapped in 195/65 section tyres, while the mid-spec variants get 16-inch wheels wrapped in 205/65 section tyres. The MPV also gets 17-inch alloys shod in 215/55 section tyres.
With all three seats in position, the Clavis offers a decent boot space of 216-litres. Customers can increase the luggage space to 645-litres by folding the third-row seats.
The Kia Carens Clavis directly rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6 and Toyota Rumion.
