Latest Update - the much-awaited Mercedes-Benz EQG, an all-electric version of the G-Class, has finally been launched in the Indian market.

In terms of features, the G 580 electric gets dual 12.3-inch displays for touchscreen and digital instrument console. Other features include an augmented reality-based heads-up display (HUD), an ambient lighting, dual 11.6-inch rear screens, wireless phone charging, and a Burmester 3D sound system.

Safety Features

For safety and security, the new Mercedes G 580 gets multiple airbags, a 360 degree surround view camera, and an advanced driver assistance system. ADAS suite offers lane assist, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam, and others.

Mercedes G 580 Electric Powertrain

The all-electric G-Class is packed with a 116 kWh battery pack with quad-motor setup, one motor for each wheel, to offer an all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain. The quad motor setup offers a combined power and torque output of 579bhp and 1164Nm, respectively. It is claimed to offer a WLTP certified range of up to 455km on a single charge. This electric SUV also comes with a 360 degree spin functionality known as 'G-Turn'.

Dimensions and Boot Space

The new electric G-Class measures 4863mm in length, 2187mm in width and 1983mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2890mm. The electric SUV has a kerb weight of 3085kgs.

The electric lifestyle SUV offers a boot space of 620-litres, which is more than sufficient to carry your weekend bags or sports equipment. It misses out on the front trunk, which is mostly common in electric vehicles.

The electric SUV is available in 5 exterior colour choices, namely South Seas Blue Mango, Classic Grey Non Metallic, Opalite White Mango, Obsidian Black and Opalite White Bright.
