Mercedes Benz cars is the first and the oldest luxury car manufacturer present in India. The German automaker offers a long list of 17 models that include 1 hatchback, four sedans (saloons and limousines), 9 SUVs, 1 Sports Coupe and 1 Sportback. Mercedes Benz cars was set up in India by Daimler in 1994. The company was renamed Daimler Chrysler India Private Limited with the merger of Daimler and Chrysler in 1998. Currently, the company is called Mercedes Benz India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mercedes Benz AG and operates from its state-of-the-art facility in Chakan, near Pune.
The company’s first model in India was the Mercedes W124 E-Class. Since then, the brand has launched numerous revolutionary models like the W220 S-Class, SLR and so on.
Mercedes Benz cars price in India starts from Rs 52 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level A-Class saloon and extends up to Rs 2.8 crore (ex-showroom) for the flagship SUV, the Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC. Other notable models include the Mercedes E-Class (Rs 66.96- Rs 85 lakh), S-Class (Rs 1.6- Rs 1.7 crore), GLC (Rs 61.97- Rs 73.51 lakh) and the GLE (at Rs 85.84 lakh).
Recently, Mercedes Benz launched the C-Class sedan at Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). Other recent launches include the Maybach S-Class at Rs 2.5 crores (ex-showroom).
Mercedes Benz cars is known for producing the most luxurious and safe vehicles globally. The company hails itself for making cars that will dramatically lessen the chances of an accident. Some of the critical safety features provided by the manufacturer include Attention Assist, Active Blindspot Assist, lane keep assist, and collision prevention assist. Newer Mercedes Benz models also feature the MBUX system with ‘Hey Mercedes’ command, which allows users to utilise certain connected car features from the outside.
