Isuzu Cars was established in 1916 when Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Company along with Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Company initiated plans to build automobiles. After multiple JVs and partnerships, ISUZU Motors Limited was set-up in 1949. The company entered India in 2012 as ISUZU Motors India Private Limited, a subsidiary of the Japanese parent company with its manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.
