The Isuzu MU-X is a value-for-money package for families and rugged adventures. It has a robust body build and a spacious interior, along with proven off-road capabilities. It excels in practicality and offers ample space for seven occupants, a storage area with foldable rear seats, and essential comfort features. However, the SUV falls short in some aspects when compared to its competitors. Material quality is on par, and the engine is reliable but isn’t the most powerful in its category.

Isuzu MU-X Price

Buyers have 2 variant choices—4X2 and 4X4—which are currently available at Rs 3699900 and Rs 4040000, respectively. Both variants come with the same set of features, with the major difference being the drivetrain. The 4X2 version is suitable for urban driving, while the 4X4 variant, with Isuzu’s shift-on-the-fly 4WD system, promises a great driving experience in off-road conditions.

Key Features of Isuzu MU-X

The Isuzu MU-X offers basic features aimed at comfort and convenience. The SUV comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, powered split-folding second and third rows of seats, a ‘Live Surround Sound’ roof-mounted sound system with 8 speakers, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel with power steering, 3D electro-luminescent meters with MID and chrome rings, power-adjustable foldable door mirrors with turn indicator lights, 

central locking with keyless entry, all power windows with driver-side one-touch down/up and delay closing, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a pollen and fine particle air filter, separate blower control for rear seats, climate control AC with integrated heater and demister, cabin cooling vents for all rows of seats, cruise control, a day/night interior rearview mirror, roof-mounted retractable door assist grips for the 1st and 2nd rows, and height-adjustable upper mounts for front seat belts. 

The SUV has a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat. The second-row seats have a split ratio of 60:40 with a fold-away center armrest, while the third-row seats come with a 50:50 split ratio and one-touch fold. The second and third-row seats can flat-fold to create a cargo area. All seats have adjustable headrests.

Dimensions and Boot Space

The MU-X appears very large on the road. Its overall length, width, and height stand at 4825mm, 1860mm, and 1840mm, respectively. The SUV sits on a 2845mm long wheelbase, which translates into ample cabin space. With a ground clearance of 230mm, the MU-X can tackle rough terrains and patchy surfaces with ease. It has a boot space of 235 liters with all three rows in place. With the third row folded down, you get ample room for luggage. The SUV offers a fuel tank capacity of 55 liters.

How Safe is Car? 

On the safety front, the Isuzu MU-X provides six airbags, including driver, front passenger, front side, and full-length curtain airbags. The SUV also offers electronic stability control, traction control system, hill descent control, emergency brake assist, pre-tensioners with load limiters for front seat belts, 3-point retractable seat belts for all seating positions, emergency locking retractor for all seat belts, three Isofix child seat anchorages for second-row seats, a rear parking assist camera, and driver and passenger seat belt warnings.

Engine Specifications

Powering the MU-X is a 1.9L, four-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Its transmission has smooth shifts and effective power delivery. The oil burner delivers a claimed power of 163PS at 3,600rpm and 360Nm of torque at 2,000rpm to 2,500rpm. This motor isn’t the most powerful one in the segment, but it is highly reliable and offers adequate torque for city driving and off-roading.

Isuzu MU-X Mileage

Despite being a full-sized SUV, the Isuzu MU-X offers decent fuel efficiency. The 4X2 variant promises a mileage of 13 kmpl, while the 4X4 version returns a slightly lower fuel economy of around 12 kmpl.

As of now, the MU-X is available in six paint schemes: Nautilus Blue, Red Spinel Mica, Silky White Pearl, Galena Grey, Black Mica, and Silver Metallic.
