Renault Cars is present in the Indian car market with a very small portfolio of three models. The brand’s cars are split into hatchback, MPV and SUV. The Renault KWID falls under the hatchback category while the Triber is a 7 seater MPV. The only SUV in its line-up is the Renault Kiger.
Renault Cars was started in 1898 by Marcel and Fernand Renault. Its journey in India began in 2005 through a partnership with the Mahindra & Mahindra group. The first car launched was Logan back in May 2007. In March 2010, under the Renault-Nissan alliance, a manufacturing facility was inaugurated in Chennai. The launch of Renault Duster in July 2012, gave a major push to the brand in India. It registered a 160 percent domestic sales growth in December 2015.
Renault Cars price in India starts at Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level hatchback, the KWID and goes all the way to Rs 10.39 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Kiger RXZ Turbo CVT variant.
Recently, Renault launched the 2022 facelift of its compact SUV, the Kiger. The car got essential feature updates along with new graphics. Other recent additions include the KWID Facelift.
All models in Renault’s line-up are very good in terms of fuel economy. The KWID delivers the highest mileage with a claimed fuel efficiency of 22 kmpl. The Kwid is followed by the Renault Kiger and the Triber which offer a mileage of 20.53 kmpl and 20 kmpl respectively.
