Latest Update - Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2024 E-Class Long Wheel Base in India, starting at Rs. 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). The new LWB model is said and perceived to embody luxury, performance, and advanced technology, as befits the high standards of its developers. The new colour is Nautic Blue, and so are the updated engines and features setting the E-Class apart in its premium segment.
The new Mercedes-Benz E Class LWB is available in 3 variants - E 200, E 220d and E 450. The E Class LWB price in India starts at Rs 78.50 lakh and goes up to Rs 92.50 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom, Pan India.
The new E 220d variant balances performance, fuel efficiency, and luxury perfectly. Its diesel engine is a 2-litre powerhouse that gives an adequate amount of power for both city and highway applications with better fuel efficiency than the petrol variants. And, being fully loaded with all the luxury features one would expect in an E-Class, it is actually one of the best value-for-money options in the lineup.

The Mercedes-Benz E Class LWB E200 is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of about 10-12kmpl. On the other hand, the diesel returns a mileage of about 14-16kmpl. The performance-oriented E450 petrol is claimed to return a fuel economy of 9-11 kmpl. These are approximate figures and may change with different driving conditions.
The new E-Class LWB comes equipped with 8 airbags as standard to give adequate protection to all the passengers. It has 360-degree camera which makes parking comfortable and easy to handle. The luxurious sedan has Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) which guarantees stability and control, especially when there is a slippery road surface. It also comes with ADAS tech with features like autonomous emergency braking, blind spot assist, active parking assist, adaptive cruise control and others.
2024 Mercedes E-Class is available in five classy colours namely High Tech Silver, Graphite Grey, Obsidian Black, Polar White and new Nautic Blue.
The sedan E 200 petrol version is packed with a 2.0-litre mild-hybrid engine that churns out 194.30bhp and a peak torque of 320Nm. The E 220d diesel is packed with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine that produces 197.26bhp and a peak torque of 440Nm. The E 450 gets a 3.0-litre six-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine delivering 378.75bhp. All the variants come with a 9-speed automatic transmission that delivers smooth and seamless gear shifts.
BMW 5 Series LWB: It looks sporty but lacks some real size if compared to the E Class.
Audi A6: The cabin is very technology-oriented, but the car lacks rear seat comfort in comparison to the E Class.
Volvo S90: It's very well fitted with excellent security systems, but for brand prestige and luxury, it is a bit poor to Mercedes-Benz.
Pros:
Good amount of legroom, and hence pretty comfortable rear-seat luxury.
The latest technology includes MBUX, a premium sound system by Burmester, etc.
The powerful engine options presented with diesel as well as petrol variants
Featured with the most comprehensive safety benefits like ADAS along with a 360-degree camera
Cons:
The price is very steep.
Petrol variants do not offer excellent fuel economy.
