July 15, 2025 - Tesla Model Y has finally been launched in the Indian market. The electric SUV is available in two battery variants - 60kWh RWD and 75kWh RWD - priced at Rs 59.89 lakh and Rs 67.89 lakh, respectively.

Tesla Model Y Safety Features

The Model Y comes with a comprehensive suite of active and passive safety features. It is packed with features like forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, blind spot monitoring, collision avoidance assist and others. 

The electric SUV comes with multiple airbags, including dual front, side chest, side head and a centre airbag. The SUV also gets a 360-degree vision via 8 exterior cameras. The Tesla Model Y has received full 5-star safety rating by EURO NCAP. 

Tesla Model Y Range and Charging

The Model Y is available with two battery choices - 60kWh and 75kWh. Both batteries are paired to a rear-axle-mounted electric motor, offering a maximum power of 295hp. 

The 60kWh version is claimed to deliver a WLTP range of 500km on a single charge, while the long range version returns an impressive range of 622km. The electric SUV accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 5.6 seconds. Both batteries are compatible with 7.2kW AC and 250kW DC fast charging. Using a 250kW DC fast charging, the battery can achieve up to 267km of range in just 15 minutes. 

MODEL Y Warranty

Tesla is offering 4 years or 80,00km warranty on the Model Y electric SUV. Adding to it, the company is giving 8 years or 1.92 lakh km warranty on battery. 

Dimensions and boot space

In terms of proportions, the Model Y is 4790mm in length, 2129mm in width and 1624mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2891mm. The electric SUV has a ground clearance of 167mm. It rides on 19-inch aero-optimised wheels. The Tesla Model Y has a boot space of 890-litres, which can be further extended up to 2,138-litres by folding the rear seats. Adding to it, the electric SUV offers a frunk space of 88-litres.
