The Hyundai Creta has been one of the top-selling compact SUVs in India since it was launched back in 2020. Recently, Hyundai unveiled the new 2024 Knight Edition of Creta, with an all-black exterior and interior design, which will now attract buyers looking for a sporty outlook to the car. The Knight Edition is based on the mid-spec S(O) and the top-spec SX(O) variants, which amplify the model's appeal without compromising on the essential features and performance that make the Creta a sought-after vehicle by most consumers.
The Creta price in India starts at Rs 1099900 and goes up to Rs 2014800. All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. There are 27 models under the SUV, based on E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, and SX(O).
Most Value For Money Variant
Among the options available, it can be said that the S(O) variant is pretty much a great value for money. This is where Hyundai has struck an excellent balance between feature and price-to-you money, particularly especially if you opt for an automatic. It encompasses great features, including a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and six airbags. It perfectly offers well-balanced value to the buyer.
The Hyundai Creta hits the road with its sophisticated features designed for comfort, convenience, and connectivity. It also boasts a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration for seamless phone integration. In addition, the wireless charging feature keeps devices powered up at all times without messy cables. It also adds to the sophistication of the new elements: voice-enabled smart panoramic sunroof, auto-healthy air purifier for a clean cabin environment, ventilated front seats, blue ambient lighting, etc. Practicality is taken care of by an electric parking brake with auto hold while driving ease is further assisted by cruise control and Idle Stop & Go (ISG) technology for effective and fuel-friendly city driving.
The Hyundai Creta offers impressive mileage in all its variants. The 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol variant returns 17.4 kmpl with the manual and 17.7 kmpl with the CVT. Those looking for some more performance would have to opt for the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, which offers an excellent score of 18.4 kmpl. Its 1.5-litre diesel is the most fuel-efficient, with the best scores appearing at 21.8 kmpl on the manual and 19.1 kmpl on the automatic.
The Creta doesn't lag when it comes to its safety. It equips a wonderful set of safety features designed to protect the occupants. All variants are accompanied by 6 airbags and ABS with EBD for superior braking power. The car also has Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist Control to make better maneuvers at a hill. The inclusions also include Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and rear parking sensors with a camera for smooth maneuverability. The higher variants also add ADAS, thereby enhancing safety features with adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking.
The Hyundai Creta is available in a range of colours for the varying tastes of customers. Seven single-tone color options are available, including Denim Blue, Red Mulberry, Typhoon Silver, Phantom Black, Titan Grey, and Polar White. As a touch of deviation, the dual-tone roof combinations of Polar White and Phantom Black are introduced. A specific edition called the Knight Edition is an extension of the colors which offers color alternatives such as Titan Grey Matte and Shadow Grey with a roof of black to other clients desiring a sporty look.
There are three variable engine options that power the Hyundai Creta to various driving experiences. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine develops 113.42 bhp and 144 Nm of torque and is available with either the 6-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. If sportiness is your requirement, the 1.5-litre Turbo-Petrol churns out 157.81 bhp and 253 Nm of torque with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). This leaves us with the 1.5-litre diesel motor, which instead delivers balanced output in terms of power output at 114.41 bhp and torque of 250 Nm. It is available with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
Hyundai Creta is a strong competition in the already highly overcrowded compact SUV market, alongside Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq. It also competes with the MG Astor along with other new entrants into the segment.
