The Aston Martin DBX is a 5-seater luxury SUV which comes in 2 variants: DBX V8 (Standard) and DBX 707, priced at Rs 38200000 and Rs 46300000 (ex-showroom), respectively.
This sportster comes loaded with large 22-inch wheels (23-inches optional), ducktail boot-lid spoiler, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment from Mercedes, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s cluster, Alcantara and leather upholstery, soft closing doors, tri-zone climate control,12-way powered front seats, 64 colours ambient lighting, foldable rear seats in a 40:20:40 ratio, multiple driving modes, consisting Standard GT, Sport, Sport+, Terrain and Terrain+.
It also comes equipped with adaptive air suspension that can increase its height by 45mm, triple chamber air springs, and the innovative 48V Anti Roll Control System (eARC). The DBX707 also gets some technical improvements. It features a new electronic limited-slip rear differential that helps with faster acceleration, carbon ceramic brakes for better stopping power, and a recalibrated chassis that gives the SUV sporty handling for better cornering.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Aston Martin DBX has a fuel economy of 9.8 kmpl (city/highway combined).
The safety kit includes up to 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera, traction and dynamic stability control, and a host of advanced driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, etc.
Aston Martin offers the DBX in multiple colour options, including Magnetic Silver, Jet Black, Royal Indigo, Divine Red, Ion Blue, China Grey, Minotaur Green, Cumberland Grey, and many more.
Under the hood of both DBX variants lies a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine; however, they have been tuned differently for both trims.
While the STD DBX creates 550PS of grunt and 700Nm of peak twisting force, the DBX 707 unleashes a staggering 707PS and 900Nm, a remarkable boost of 157PS and 200Nm over the standard model.
The engine comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels through an all-wheel-drive system.
The SUV can achieve a top speed of 291 km/h and go from a standstill to 100 km/h in an impressive 3.3 seconds (standard DBX takes 4.5 seconds).
The DBX is 5,039mm in length, 1,998mm in width, and 1,680mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 3,060mm and a ground clearance of 190mm that can be increased to 235mm with the help of the adaptive air suspension system. It has a wading depth of up to 500mm, a fuel tank capacity of 85 litres, and a boot space of 632 litres.
The Aston Martin DBX faces tough competition from the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, and Audi RS Q8.
