Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Alternatives - Hyundai Creta to Honda Elevate

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is one of the most popular mid-size SUVs on sale in our market. It boasts impressive aesthetic designs and advanced features accompanied by great mileage. Among its most dominant contenders are the Hyundai Creta and the Honda Elevate. Comparing each of these SUVs has made a difference between fuel efficiency and space, even advanced features, and safety, and so you make the right call.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

One of the bolder designs comes out of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. It gets an exceptionally huge chrome grille, LED DRLs, and R17 alloy wheels to enhance the SUV appeal. The theme is all-black with champagne gold accents, while premium features comprise a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The safety quotient is supplemented with six airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, and Hill-Hold Assist.

Under the hood are the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine, churning out up to 114 bhp. The Grand Vitara comes in a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic, while the strong hybrid variant packs the e-CVT. Mileage is good at 21.11 kmpl for the petrol and 27.97 kmpl for the hybrid variants. Ex-showroom price is within Rs. 10.99 lakh to Rs. 19.93 lakh. This Grand Vitara is the offering that makes the owners feel the actual value of their money.

Hyundai Creta

That compact SUV favorite resonates in a blend of performance, features, and style. The Hyundai Creta has come up with the recent Knight edition which is an all-black theme that gives a sporty feel. With all the sophisticated LED lighting, dual-tone variants, and voice-enabled design front, Creta ticks.

But beyond that, the higher variant also gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, ventilated seats, and ADAS. It comes in three engine variants: 1.5-litre petrol producing 113.42 bhp, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol churning out 157.81 bhp, and a 1.5-litre diesel with 114.41 bhp. Transmission is available in manual, CVT, and 7-speed DCT. The mileage is fantastic too-the diesel variants can give up to 21.8 kmpl. With a price range of between Rs. 11.00 lakh and Rs. 20.15 lakh, ex-showroom, it would promise something to everyone.

Designed for those who want an SUV to open up, loaded with features like multiple engine options and advanced safety like ADAS, the Creta feels like a perfect fit. For customers attuned to fuel, the oil-burner engine variants are the only real deals.

Honda Elevate

The Elevate is the latest add-on to Honda's portfolio of mid-size SUV offerings, launched in September 2023. It stands with a boxy stance, offering spacious interiors, which, in turn, translates to a full-size-fact SUV experience. So, in keeping with the philosophy of "Man Maximum, Machine Minimum" from Honda, the Elevate ensures generous legroom and knee room for every passenger, making it amenable to families as well.

The Elevate sports a tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine producing 119.34 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. The car comes in a 6-speed manual and optional CVT automatic gearbox. The decent mileage figures for both stand at 15.31 kmpl for the former and 16.92 kmpl for the latter.

Other features include 10.25-inch touchscreen aside, lane-watch camera, wireless charging, and the ADAS equipped with functionalities such as adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. The prices are extremely competitive too, ranging between Rs. 11.69 lakh to Rs. 16.31 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Elevate further has the largest ground clearance of 220 mm while it boasts a decent 458-litre boot. It is comfortable, and spacious with competitive pricing and most importantly advanced safety features in almost all variants.
