Tata Motors has just released another fresh set of teasers for the upcoming Harrier and Safari facelift. Earlier the brand teased the facelifted SUVs’ front-end design earlier this week. Both the Harrier and Safari will be receiving their first major update with the facelift. Now ahead of its launch, the automaker has started accepting bookings for both models today.
The latest teaser gives us a glimpse of the facelifted Safari’s side profile. It remains largely similar to the current model since changing it significantly would’ve been quite expensive. However, the SUV is sitting on new-look alloy wheels that get a dual-tone finish and seem a size larger.
Previous teasers have already slightly revealed what the facelifted Harrier and Safari will look like. The front end gets new vertically positioned headlights while an LED light bar sits just above the grille, which is wider than before. At the rear, both SUVs will likely get LED taillights connected by a lightbar, reprofiled bootlid, and a tweaked bumper.
Moving inside, both SUVs will retain the 10.25-inch infotainment system that was recently introduced in the Red Dark Edition models. Sitting just below it will be a new Haptic Touch panel for the climate controls, with two toggle switches on either side of it. Other key changes include a new steering wheel with physical and touch controls, sleeker AC vents, a smaller gear lever, and a rotary knob with an integrated screen to change between drive modes.
Tata will continue to offer the current 2.0-litre turbo diesel motor on the facelifted Harrier and Safari. It pumps out 170 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The automaker may also introduce a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor in the SUVs sometime in the future.
The new Harrier and Safari facelift will likely be revealed by the end of this month or the start of next. Tata has also started accepting bookings for the SUV from today. Upon launch, the new Harrier and Safari will rival the Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio N, Kia Carens, Toyota Innova Hycross, MG Hector and Hector Plus, and the Hyundai Alcazar.
