Tata Motors recently launched the Harrier Facelift in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Featuring an impressive design, the SUV has secured a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP’s crash test for both Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection.
The Tata Harrier had earlier achieved a 5 Star Safety Rating from GNCAP (Global New Car Assessment Program) under the ‘Safer Cars for India’ Campaign.
Some of the top safety features of Harrier Facelift include up to 7 airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, Electronic Stability Control and much more. Furthermore, the top variants of the SUV also get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), such as Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Front Collision Warning, making it one of the safest SUVs in the country.

Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors also introduced the facelifted Safari last year at a starting price of Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Similar to the Harrier, the Tata Safari has also bagged a 5-Star Safety Rating in Bharat NCAP’s crash test.
Available in a 7-seat configuration, the full-blown SUV had earlier achieved a 5-Star Safety Rating from Global NCAP. The SUV secured 33.05 points out of 34 points for Adult Occupant Safety and 45 points out of 49 points for Child Occupant Safety.
In terms of safety equipment, it comes equipped with functions such as Hill-Hold Assist, Traction Control, up to 7 airbags, ESP, ISOFIX child seat mounts among others. The vehicle also provides ADAS features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and much more.
Priced between Rs 11.48 lakh to Rs 18.57 lakh (ex-showroom), the Volkswagen Virtus is counted among the safest sedans in the Indian market. Rivaling the likes of the Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the Virtus sedan has achieved a perfect 5-Star Global NCAP Safety Rating.
In Adult Occupant Protection, the Virtus scored 29.71 out of a total of 34 points. Additionally, it achieved 42 out of a maximum of 49 points in Child Occupant Safety. The car comes equipped with plenty of advanced safety features like 6 airbags, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, Auto Hill Hold, Multi-Collision Brakes, a rear-view camera, and so on.
The Skoda Slavia is a well-packaged sedan, which is available at a starting price of Rs 11.53 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.13 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Similar to the Virtus, the Skoda Slavia has bagged a 5-star GNCAP Safety Rating, securing 29.71 points out of 34 in Adult Occupant Safety and 42 points out of 49 in Child Occupant Safety.
Based on Volkswagen's MQB-A0 platform, the Slavia’s safety suite consists of 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control, ABS with EBD, Hill-Hold Assist, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Multi-Collision Braking, among others.

The Skoda Kushaq is one of the most sought-after mid-size SUVs in the country, competitively priced between Rs 11.89 lakh to Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV has secured a perfect 5-Star Global NCAP Rating in Adult and Child Occupant Safety, with 29.64 points out of 34 and 42 points out of 49, respectively.
Safety features of the Kushaq include 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Hold Control, Multi-Collision Braking, Traction Control, Anti-Lock Braking System, ISOFIX child seat mounts, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and so on.
Available in five, six and seven-seating configuration, the Mahindra XUV700 is one of the popular SUVs. It is priced between Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 26.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle in the past has achieved an overall 5-Star Safety Rating from Global NCAP.
It obtained the rating in Adult Occupant Protection, with 16.03 points of maximum 17 points. In Child Occupant Protection, the four-wheeler managed to secure a 4-Star Safety Rating with 41.66 points out of 49 points.
Offering good protection for the driver and co-passenger, there is safety for their head, neck, chest and knees. Further in relation to equipment, then the SUV provides 7 airbags, ABS, ESP and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The list of ADAS features include Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Auto High-Beam Assist, and much more.
The subcompact SUV, Tata Punch is a highly popular product. Its price starts from Rs 6.13 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 10.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The Mini SUV has received an overall 5-Star Safety Rating in Global NCAP crash tests.
In terms of Adult Occupant Protection, the four-wheeler impressively secured 16.45 points out of 17 points, earning a 5-Star Safety Rating. Furthermore, the micro-SUV gets a 4-Star Rating in Child Occupant Safety, with a score of 40.89 out of 49 points.
Key safety features onboard the vehicle include 2 airbags, Anti-lock Braking System with EBD, Traction Control, a rear-view camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and more.
Dubbed as the “Big Daddy of SUVs”, the Mahindra Scorpio N is known for its boxy looks, spacious cabin and intuitive features. Under Global NCAP crash tests, the SUV has secured a 5-Star Rating in Adult Occupant Protection with 29.25 out of 34 points. Additionally, the SUV achieved a 3-Star Safety Rating in Child Occupant Protection, scoring 28.93 out of 49 points.
Scorpio N is priced between Rs 13.60 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of safety, it gets a plethora of features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and so on.

Tata Motors recently launched the Nexon Facelift with multiple powertrain and variant options. Its current price begins from Rs 8.15 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.60 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top end trim.
The facelift has bagged a 5-Star Global NCAP safety rating under its ‘Safer Cars for India’ program. The subcompact SUV scored 32.22 out of 34 points in Adult Occupant Protection and 44.52 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Safety.
Some key safety features provided in the New Nexon include 6 airbags, Hill Hold Control, Electronic Stability Control, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX mounts, Emergency Brake Assist and ABS with EBD.
With an impressive 5-Star Global NCAP Safety Rating, the Tata Altroz is a premium hatchback currently being sold in the country. Priced between Rs 6.65 lakh to Rs 10.80 lakh (ex-showroom), it has earned a 5-Star Safety Rating in Adult Occupant Protection with 16.13 points out of 17 points. However, in Child Occupant Protection, the hatchback scored 29 points out of 49 points and as a result has achieved a 3-Star Safety Rating.
Safety suite onboard Tata Altroz includes dual front airbags, Corner Stability Control, Parking Assistance, ABS with EBD, a reverse parking camera, voice alerts, ISOFIX mounts, etc.
