BYD launched the upgraded 2025 model of its electric sedan, the Seal, in India. The new model features a number of new additions and upgrades. Current model has been received well, with more than 1,300 units sold within the first year of its launch. The new updates are designed to improve the driving experience and keep pace with the increased demand for electric cars (EVs) in India.
The 2025 BYD Seal includes several upgrades, particularly in technology, comfort, and performance. The interior has a power sunshade, enhancing the convenience for the occupants. A silver-plated dimming canopy is included to make the interior more presentable and cozy. The air conditioning system includes a bigger compressor to enhance the cooling performance. The air purifier system is also improved for better indoor air quality.
The suspension system of the Seal has been upgraded for enhanced ride comfort. The Premium variant now features Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD), which offer a more comfortable and better-balanced ride. The Performance variant features the DiSus-C intelligent damping system, which adjusts the suspension based on road conditions. This provides the vehicle with a smoother and better-handling drive experience.
The 2025 BYD Seal has also improved its infotainment system. It now has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing easier smartphone connection and access to apps. It also features a new sound wave function that optimizes the cabin acoustics for a more pleasant listening experience on the road.
There are three versions of the BYD Seal, each with varying battery capacity and driving range. The Seal Dynamic is fitted with a 61.44 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 510 km from a full charge under normal testing conditions. The Seal Premium features an 82.56 kWh battery, delivering a staggering 650 km range. The Seal Performance also features the 82.56 kWh battery but has it tuned for high performance, giving a 580 km range. These models suit various driving requirements, whether you need a more economic range or more performance.
Bookings for the 2025 BYD Seal are now open with an initial booking fee of Rs. 1,25,000. But the actual price of the car will be announced in April 2025. This gives prospective buyers the advantage of pre-booking early and availing themselves of the latest information prior to the launch of the actual price.
Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles at BYD India, said that these announcements reflect highly about BYD's commitment towards the Indian market. He reiterated that the company tries its best to introduce the best technology for improved driving experiences. BYD aims to become the number one in India's electric vehicle space.
