The Taigun 1.0L range starts at Rs 11 lakh and extends up to Rs 17.18 lakh, while the Taigun 1.5L 7DCT is available only in two variants - GT Plus Chrome and GT Plus Sport - priced at Rs 19 lakh and Rs 19.3 lakh, ex-showroom.
Compared to the Skoda Kushaq, the new Volkswagen Taigun is Rs 31,000 more expensive. It directly rivals the new Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Tata Sierra, Maruti Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Honda Elevate.
The SUV is offered with the same 1.0L and 1.5L direct-injection turbo-petrol engine options. The former is a three-cylinder engine that produces 115hp and 178Nm of torque, while the 4-cylinder 1.5L engine churns out 150hp and 250Nm of torque. The 1.5L unit retains the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox; however, the 1.0L TSI engine gets a new 8-speed torque converter automatic unit alongside a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The new Taigun comes with cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features. It gets a new lighting signature with sleeker LED headlamps with connected trims, revised lower bumper, new tail-lamps, and newly styled alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the Taigun facelift gets a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, turn-by-turn navigation, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Google AI assistant, panoramic sunroof, rear seat massager, ventilated front seats, and automatic AC.
For safety and security, the Taigun facelift is fitted with six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold control, multi-collision braking and rear view camera. It still misses out on LEVEL 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera.
