Volvo has officially announced the global debut of its new all-electric ES90 sedan on 5th March 2025. This sedan is the second car based on the brand's Superset tech stack after the EX90. Its exterior has been teased and shows a 3-box design silhouette. In fact, the all-electric ES90 is the first car of the company with a dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin configuration.

The ES90 is a sedan built on Volvo's SPA2 architecture and this is the second car after EX90 to be based on the Superset tech stack. The Superset tech stack consists of one single set of hardware and software modules and systems that will underpin all upcoming electric cars of Volvo. Through this performance, every electric car that is in the model lineup can be enhanced.
As for the Safety measures, the brand has a Safe Space Technology that features an advanced array of sensors, which contains one Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), five radars, eight cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors, as well as an advanced driver understanding system inside the car.
Though much can not be seen in the teaser, the front is expected to get Thor Hammer LED headlamps like the EX90.
Along with the electric sedan, the automaker is also developing a facelift of the ICE-powered S90 sedan. The limousine is also built on the SPA platform like the XC60 and XC90 crossover SUVs.
It's rumored that the brand is testing the same double-facelift procedure on the S90 limousine, which is also built on the SPA platform like the XC60 and XC90 crossover SUVs.
It is likely that S90 will come with the same mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid options.
