As part of the on-going Formula E Championship taking place in Hyderabad this weekend, Mahindra and Mahindra unveiled its highly anticipated new electric SUVs in the country as part of their Born Electric Vision Concepts. These SUVs will be positioned under two EV brands of Mahindra XUV, and an all-new pure electric brand called BE. These are using the components from Volkswagen and are promising to be quite impressive in terms of design, technology, range, and performance.
Further, Mahindra’s new electric SUVs are based on the INGLO platform which will support battery packs with 60 to 80 kWh capacity in the XUV.e and BE model range. This battery pack will feature Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LiFePO4) or LFP chemistry. According to the battery technology forums, LFP chemistry provides outstanding electrochemical performance with low resistance. The key benefits of this are a high current rating, good thermal stability, and long cycle life. It means the models will have improved safety and tolerance under severe conditions.
Let us get more into detail about the two upcoming electric SUVs (XUV.e9 and Be.RALL-E) from Mahindra.
The XUV.e sub-brand of Mahindra will have two models named XUV.e8 and XUV.e9. The XUV.e9 is scheduled to make its production debut by April 2025. The SUV will not be an electric counterpart of any existing model; it is a completely new vehicle that has a coupe-like design and is going to be made available in a 5-seating configuration. In terms of dimensions, the XUV.e9 measures 4,790 mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,690mm in height having a wheelbase of 2,775mm.
The design of the New Mahindra XUV.e9 is inspired from the SUV Aero Concept. Apart from its coupe-like profile other key design elements would include curvy sides, aggressive headlamps and tail lamps. A panoramic sunroof and loads of tech will be thrown into the package.

The company also showcased BE Rall-E Concept Electric which is based on the INGLO platform. The BE Rall-E is an off-road-ready EV that is likely to make its presence by October 2025.
Mahindra calls this model a Sports Electric Vehicle (SEV) which comes with a futuristic design including its sporty look with excellent performance. It features a set of big auxiliary lamps on the front bumper, plastic cladding on all sides, and a roof-mounted carrier that holds a spare type alongside other utilities. Further, the BE.05 is 4,370 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,635 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,775mm.
