Hyundai has confirmed the launch of its most-awaited Creta EV for the Indian market. The EV is highly expected to arrive in January 2025 while its production will start by the end of this year.
The electric version of Creta will be based on the standard Creta SUV. It will also be manufactured on the same production line as the regular Creta. However, the EV will have its unique visual appeal with mild styling changes over the standard Creta.
For instance, the EV will feature a closed-off front grille, fresh front & rear bumpers, and an aero-optimized design for alloy wheels. The front bumper will also have sensors for the ADAS. The vehicle will also get a front-mounted charging port like the Kona EV.
Inside, it will highlight a different design for the centre console and unique steering wheel. It will also have a drive selector on the steering column on the right side, similar to IONIQ 5 and Kona Electric. The e-SUV is likely to support an 11 kW AC charger and an 80 kW DC charger.
Hyundai Creta EV will share its electric motor with the new-gen Kona EV available overseas. The motor will take power from the 45 kWh battery pack which can deliver 134 bhp and 255 Nm of torque.
