Kia Carens facelift has been spied testing for the first time in South Korea. First launched in 2022, the MPV will now get a mid-cycle update and is expected to go on sale in 2025. It is said that the spied model is likely to be either a petrol or diesel variant. Its electric variant could also arrive in India by the second half of 2025.
Based on the spy images, the Kia Carens facelift was heavily camouflaged though it revealed redesigned front and rear ends. However, the headlight design could not be seen clearly. Besides, it showed new tail-lights incorporating the C-shaped LED pattern, also seen in refreshed Sonet and Seltos. Other expected design changes include updated front & rear bumpers and new alloy wheels.
Interior details are yet to be revealed. However, it is likely to get a feature-rich cabin and more tech features.
Kia will hardly make any changes to the powertrain. The Carens facelift is expected to retain its current set of engine options. These include a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit, and the 1.5-litre diesel option. The naturally-aspirated unit gets a 6-speed manual as standard while its turbo option gets a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed Dual Clutch gearbox. For the diesel variant, transmission options will be handled by a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, and a 6-speed automatic torque converter.
