India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
The production-ready version of the upcoming Mahindra XUV e9 was recently spotted by Autocar, revealing key exterior and interior details. The XUV e9 is essentially the coupe version of the XUV700, but it comes with some unique features and a fresh design aimed at buyers looking for a blend of SUV practicality and stylish looks.
Inside, the XUV e9 will introduce some impressive tech upgrades. Unlike the XUV700, this new model will feature a three-screen layout—one screen for the driver’s dials, another for the infotainment system, and a third screen for the front passenger. This passenger screen is expected to support apps, games, and video streaming, equipped with a privacy filter so that it won’t distract the driver. Mahindra will equip the XUV e9 with a Dolby Atmos sound system for enhanced audio, ensuring a top-notch entertainment experience.
The XUV e9 is based on Mahindra’s INGLO architecture, the same platform as the upcoming BE 05. Its design closely matches the concept version shown by Mahindra in 2022, featuring sleek daytime running lights (DRLs), a closed-off grille and plenty of glossy elements. It manages to stand out with its sloping roofline that gives it a sporty, coupe-like appearance. This unique roof design is what sets it apart from the standard XUV700, along with a muscular rear design and sleek LED tail lights.
However, unlike the XUV700, which can seat seven people, the e9 will only offer two rows of seats due to its coupe design. This means more focus on comfort and luxury for up to five passengers.
It is expected to feature a battery pack ranging between 60-80kWh and is likely to offer a range of around 400 km to 450 km. AvRWD setup will be offered as standard, while the top-spec models will receive a dual-motor AWD setup. Power output is expected to range between 230bhp and 350bhp.
The XUV e9 is expected to be priced competitively, with the base model likely starting around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom), while higher-spec versions could go up to Rs 45 lakh.
