After launching the Blackstorm Editions of the Astor, Gloster and Hector, MG Motor India has finally introduced the Comet EV Blackstorm. The special edition, MG Comet Blackstorm is priced at Rs 7.8 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The aggressive price tag does not include the cost of the battery pack.
Similar to regular Comet EV and Windsor EV, the MG Comet Blackstorm comes with battery as rental program. The battery rental starts at Rs 2.5 per kilometer depending on the financer. The new Comet EV Blackstrom is based on the top-spec model. It costs Rs 30,000 more than the top-spec Exclusive version.
The new special edition is finished in a Starry Black exterior paint scheme with contrasting red accents and graphics. In fact, the interiors of the Comet Blackstrom is finished in a dark scheme with red accents.
The MG Comet Blackstrom is fitted with a 17.4kWh battery pack with a rear-wheel-drive electric motor. The rear wheel-mounted electric motor is rated at 41bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. It is claimed to offer a driving range of 230km on a single charge.
MG Motor India had launched the Comet EV in India in August 2023. MG claims that the sales of the entry-level electric car increased by good 29 percent in CY2024 compared to the previous model.
