The new MG Majestor was recently showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. It’s essentially the luxurious version of the updated Gloster SUV, which is sold as Maxus D90 in select global markets. Its official launch date is yet to be revealed, though it is expected to arrive in coming months. When launched, the Majestor will be sold alongside the updated Gloster, which is also expected in the coming months. Here’s a look at how these two SUVs differ from each other.
Model | Majestor | Gloster |
Engine | 2.0L Diesel | 2.0L Diesel |
Power | 216bhp | 216bhp |
Torque | 479Nm | 479Nm |
Gearbox | 8-Speed AT | 8-Speed AT |
Drivetrain | 4x4 | 4x4 |
MG hasn’t revealed engine specifications of the Majestor yet. However, it’s likely to use the Gloster’s 2.0L, 4-cylinder twin turbo diesel engine. This motor delivers a maximum power of 216bhp and 479Nm of torque. The transmission on offer is an 8-speed automatic gearbox, transmitting power to the rear wheels. Similar to the Gloster, the Majestor will offer an option for a 4X4 drivetrain.
The interior of the Majestor was covered with the tinted windows, and official details are yet to be announced. However, when the SUV was spotted during testing, spy images revealed some interior details. The Majestor gets a 12.3-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a newly-designed centre console and a new digital instrument cluster with customisable interfaces.
It has sporty all-black theme with features such as a heated passenger seat, heated and cooled driver’s seat with power adjust and massaging function, wireless phone charging, three zone climate control, a 12-speaker audio system, a panoramic sunroof and an electric tailgate.
Similar to the MG Gloster, the Majestor comes with the tyre pressure monitoring system, 360 degree cameras, electronic parking brake with auto hold, Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite and auto headlamps and wipers.
Visually, the Majestor looks more rugged and masculine than the Gloster. It has a completely different looking front fascia featuring a newly-designed blacked-out grille with horizontal slats, slightly bigger MG logo, redesigned headlamps with split setup, new LED DRLs and revised bumper. There is a silver bash plate and black cladding running along its length.
The side profile also gets black treatment on the half top, wing mirrors and door handles. The SUV rides on the 5-spoke, 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with a chrome-finished running board. The rear section also looks rugged with the wraparound connected taillights. However, the dual exhaust pipes and sporty skid plate are similar to those of the Gloster.
Dimensions | Majestor | Gloster |
Length | 5046mm | 4985mm |
Width | 2016mm | 1926mm |
Height | 1876mm | 1867mm |
Wheelbase | 2950mm | 2950mm |
The new Majestor appears bigger than its sibling. Its overall length, width and height stand at 5,046mm, 2,016mm and 1,876mm, respectively. The Gloster, on the other hand, measures 4,985mm in length, 1,926mm in width and 1,867mm in height. Compared to the Gloster, the new Majestor is 61mm longer, 90mm wider and 9mm taller. Both SUVs have a wheelbase of 2,950mm.
