MG had an impressive showcase with exciting models at the 2025 Auto Expo 2025. One of the models at the pavilion is the S5 EV, which is known as the ES5 in international markets. However, the carmaker has not confirmed any plans for the launch of this EV in India. If it does, it is likely to replace the ZS EV as its generational update.
Let's take a deeper look at this new MG EV and see what it offers.
The MF S5 comes with a bold and modern front with a split-type lighting setup. At the rear, the MG S5 has its LED tail light traveling the width of it. For the side profile, it features conventional door handles, black-finished exterior rearview mirror shells, and silver roof rails.
The measures have a length of 4.4 meters, 1.8 meters, and a height of 1.6 meters. With its impressive graphic design, the rear lamps complete the front lighting setup.
Inside the car features a plush beige theme with a panoramic sunroof that spans across the roof. The interior is kept minimalistic and includes practical storage spaces and cupholders.
As for the features, the car is expected to come with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and heated and ventilated leather seats.
The MG S5 has been announced to come with battery pack options and it does claim up to 525 km. It will feature a rear-wheel-drive system and the output of a larger battery pack of 62 kW (producing 167.67 BHP and 250 Nm of peak torque).
As MG is yet to officially announce or disclose plans for the launch of the S5 in India, it is expected to sit competitively within the electric SUV segment. For the competition, the car can rival and be a more premium alternative to the Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, the upcoming e Vitara as well and the Urban Cruiser.
