Scheduled to be launched on September 11, the MG Windsor EV is the brand's third electric vehicle in the Indian market. Ahead of its official debut, JSW MG Motor India has teased the exterior of this crossover utility vehicle or CUV. The teaser reveals the front and rear fascias along with the alloy wheel design of the Windsor EV.

The teaser confirms that the MG Windsor EV is a re-badged version of the Wuling Cloud EV that is on sale in select international markets. The front fascia has LED headlights and connected LED daytime running lights (DRLs). There is a Morris Garages lettering placed above the front bumper, while the MG logo is placed right below the LED DRL strip. The charging flap is placed on the front fender.
The side profile too resembles the Cloud EV, featuring simple lines and aerodynamically designed 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Similar to the front, the rear has a connected LED light bar that runs across the width. The Windsor lettering is placed under the tail-lights.

The previous teasers reveal the interior details and features of the MG Windsor EV. Similar to the design, the CUV shares most of its features with the Cloud EV. It will come equipped with a segment-leading 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, which is the largest in the category and largest among the current MG cars on sale in our market.
The electric CUV has a clean and clutter free dashboard design with minimal buttons. Most of the functions will be controlled via the large touchscreen infotainment unit. In terms of features, the Windsor CUV gets a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitoring, ambient lighting, a digital instrument cluster, cruise control and others.
The MG Windsor EV will come with a full-width panoramic glass roof, which appears similar to the one offered on the Hyundai Ioniq 5 e-SUV. It will also get India's first Aero-lounge seats with 35 degree recline. The CUV has all-black leatherette seats with headrests for all 3 occupants in the second row.

It is likely to share the battery pack and electric motor with the MG Cloud EV. The electric CUV is available with two battery packs - a 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh - paired to a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The smaller battery pack model offers a range of 360km on a single charge, while the later delivers 460km range. The India-spec model could offer a certified range of over 500km on a single charge.
The MG Windsor EV will be positioned between the Comet and the ZS EV in MG's India line-up. It will have a high level of localisation, which will allow the brand to price it competitively. We expect the new model to cost somewhere around Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. It will rival the likes of the Tata Nexon EV, Tata Curvv EV and the Mahindra XUV400.
