It is basically a more premium version of the updated Gloster and will feature rugged looks in a manner like some design characteristics found in the global Maxus D90 SUV. It competes with Toyota Fortuner for its space in the premium 7-seater SUV market of India. The MG Majestor will have a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, producing 216 bhp and 476 Nm of torque. It will also offer a 4X4 option.

Kia Electric RV

Kia has announced to launch a new electric Recreational Vehicle or RV in 2025 from India. Kia Carens is the MPV on which an electric variant was also spotted going through a change of facia. Kia has been testing many variants of electric vehicles on India roads several times. The new model will feature the same platform, body, and interior of the Carens facelift, but design changes for the electric version would be seen. Some of them are a new grille, aero-optimized alloy wheels, and updated bumpers. Styling will also take inspiration from bigger Kia EVs, like the EV9. It would be using the same battery and electric motor of the recently launched Hyundai Creta EV.

Maruti Suzuki had unveiled its first ever fully all-new electric vehicle, e Vitara, at the Auto Expo 2025. Online, there has been much excitement over this. Confirming to be launched in the last week of March 2025, the e Vitara is already up for booking. MG Cyberster

MG has unveiled officially the Cyberster at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Further, the brand will reveal pricing for this super-premium electric sports car. Though it will not have its direct competitors, it will likely compete with that of BMW's Z4 car. The super-premium is the first set of models designed by MG into its premium series called Select targeted at the higher end of an electric car portfolio. It features a dual-motor AWD system with two electric motors-one on each axle, good for 510 bhp and 725 Nm of torque. The vehicle will be equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack, meaning that it is possible to get a range of up to 443 km with one charge.

Tata Sierra ICE and EV

Tata Motors showcased a number of new SUVs and future concepts on the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, but it was the Sierra that stole the show. The Sierra debuted on stage with a petrol engine. The next in line of petrol and diesel or electric powertrain options for the Tata SUV brand, following the Curvv and Nexon that have already arrived in multiple fuel types, is the Harrier and Safari that will also be available in petrol.

Tata unveiled two turbo petrol engines along with the 2023 Auto Expo. One of them is a 1.2-litre T-GDI, and the other is the 1.5-litre T-GDI. The 1.2-litre engine will be powering the Curvv, while 1.5litre T-GDI will power the larger SUVs like Sierra, Harrier, and Safari. This 1.5-litre T-GDI will make 167.67 bhp as well as 280 Nm of Torque. The engine will be given with both manual as well as automatic transmission. The diesel Sierra will be taken from the 2.0-litre Kryotec engine on the Harrier and Safari and will bring 170 bhp, with 350 Nm of torque. It would come with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The Sierra EV will be supported by a 75kWh battery pack and will come equipped with a dual electric motor coupled with an AWD system. It is projected to achieve more than 500 km certified range on a single charge. Apart from this, the EV also supports V2L and V2V functionalities for charging.

Tata Avinya

Introduced initially as a concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, since then, this car has gone into development stages. At the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, Tata unveiled the Sportback version-Avinya X Concept and indicated that the Avinya will have a new premium electric brand underneath it. Expectedly, a Sportback would be accompanied by a new SUV.

The first model the Avinya name will be sported by likely will be the new 5-door Sportback. Details in terms of information regarding the used battery pack will not be availed, yet the range with a full charge is expected at 500km. The 5-door version of the new Avinya comes in both its variants: it can be produced in RWD or AWD versions.

The Tata Avinya will be a completely new product line for the company. It is said to have a starting price of around Rs. 30 lakh, ex-showroom. The expected launch date for this car is by 2026, although Tata has not confirmed the date yet. This Sportback will be the first model under Tata's new luxury electric car brand, and it will be trying to make an impact.

Renault New Duster

renault duster

The launch of the new-gen Renault Duster was initially anticipated for 2025, but fresh updates suggest it has now been postponed to early 2026. However, there's latest news that the Duster brand is going to make a comeback into the Indian market this year. Because, in recent times, confusion arose as to whether new-gen Duster would continue to be launched after the merger between Nissan and Honda.

The video from Acko Drive confirms the third generation Renault Duster launch in India, 2025, which remains unaffected with all the uncertainty and chaos globally by the merger between Nissan and Honda. There has also been confirmation that plans at Renault-Nissan in India will not be altered, and as scheduled, new platform cars will be brought in.

This new-gen Duster will be based on the CMF-B modular platform of Renault-Nissan alliance, which will also be used for a new 7-seater SUV. Besides, Nissan will also launch its own versions of these SUVs in India. Nissan India even teases the launch of a new 5-seater mid-sized SUV.

Volkswagen Tera

Volkswagen is developing an all-new sub-4 meter compact SUV codenamed as Tera, which will launch first in Brazil. According to reports, it is going to make a global debut in March 2025. The new sub-4 meter SUV by Volkswagen will face competition from similar models such as the Fiat Pulse and Renault Kardian globally.

While the Tera will make its debut in Brazil, it will also be available in other markets. VW India is planning to launch a similar sub-4 meter SUV in the country, positioned below the Nivus. The new Tera will be assembled in Taubate, Brazil, and has been spotted testing multiple times overseas.

Tata Harrier EV

tata harrier ev

We now expect the new launch soon from Tata Motors after a test time for quite a while now in the form of the Harrier EV. Earlier, this electric SUV was sighted recently just ahead of the public release behind camouflage cover. Now, as it shows with new spy pictures, this shows the modifications have taken place like fresh designs have been implemented over the alloy wheel which seems distinct from that was presented in the Auto Expo 2025; maybe a middle run or could be flagship level variant.

A giant impact is seen in the Harrier EV expected to make with the Indian market of electric vehicles. It would even be the first vehicle where a twin motor setup is in place. So far, details regarding the technical specifications are unclear, but sources indicate that around 500 Nm of torque is expected in the vehicle. The Harrier EV is supposed to come fitted with an AWD system so that it presents better performance from the current models.

Skoda Superb

Skoda rolled out the fourth-generation Superb at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, though it came out worldwide at mid-2024. The new Superb is to be launched in India later this year with a complete redesign but retaining the features that made the Superb popular.

And under the hood, it will probably carry a 2.0-litre TSI petrol unit which delivers 201 bhp and 330 Nm of torque, to be delivered by the smooth seven-speed DCT. It will also get hybrid options worldwide, and one cannot tell if those are coming to India.

The new Skoda Superb is expected to be priced around Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom) and will directly compete with the Toyota Camry. More details will be revealed closer to the official launch later this year.

New Kia Seltos

The biggest update with the new Seltos for Kia is it will have its first petrol-hybrid powertrain. There's a strong case for offering an option like a hybrid in the Indian market as well, which Kia might pursue, starting from the Seltos model first. It seems likely to couple this hybrid arrangement with the already available 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines.

There are rumors which suggest that the newest variant of the Seltos may feature a 141 bhp, 1.6-litre hybrid powertrain mated with an AWD system. The existing options for the engine will remain as they are. This will be the 113 bhp, 1.5-litre petrol, the 114 bhp, 1.5-litre turbo diesel, and the 157 bhp, 1.5-litre turbo petrol. The new Seltos will boast of multiple gearbox options in the form of a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed automatic, and a CVT automatic.

Post the launch of Syros compact SUV, Kia is set to roll out more cars and SUVs in India within the next couple of years. Currently, it is testing three new vehicles that include an electric SUV as well as a facelift of updated Carens. Later this year, Kia will bring a new generation Seltos in India.

Mahindra Xev 7e

Much-anticipated Mahindra XEV 7e, a seven-seater electric SUV, is to be launched in India during the second half of 2025. The production version is of the Mahindra XUV.e8, which first appeared in 2022-23. The SUV is the more practical electric version of the XUV 700, already on sale in India.

The XEV 7e is to share its battery packs with the BE 6 and XEV 9e models. It will feature two batteries: 59kWh and 79kWh, both using a rear-mounted electric motor. Touted deliveries on a single charge are expected to reach more than 500 km. The smaller battery features 227.84 bhp and 380 Nm. The larger 79kWh model, with rear-wheel drive, taps 282.08 bhp and 380 Nm. An additional dual-motor configuration that would provide all-wheel drive is also in the cards.

Prices for XEV 7e are expected to range between Rs 20.9 lakh to Rs 30 lakhs. It will compete with the upcoming Tata Safari EV. Most significant about the XEV 7e is its more usable seven-seat cabin, which provides excellent value to customers looking for a little extra head- and elbow room.

Renault Bigster

renault bigster

In October 2024, Dacia, Renault's sister brand, officially announced the Bigster through images and launched it at the Paris Motor Show. The largest model of the global range by Dacia, this is an SUV that has been developed from the underpinning of Renault Duster. The India market will probably get a 7-seater variant of this SUV, which can be sold under the badge name of Renault Bigster. The car is due to launch sometime around six months from the introduction of the third generation 5-seater Renault Duster, which should be seen in early 2026. In India, the 7-seater SUV Renault will compete against variants like Mahindra XUV 700, Hyundai Alcazar, and Tata Safari. Renault's sibling firm Nissan is also expected to launch its own variant of the new generation Duster and Bigster 7-seater.

The Bigster is available across the globe in mild hybrid, strong hybrid, and LPG variants. Mild hybrid comes with a 48V system and 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 120 bhp while AWD is an optional feature along with different driving modes. In contrast, a strong hybrid comes with a 107 bhp petrol engine and electric motors, putting its total output at 155 bhp. LPG uses a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit producing 140 bhp. Info on Indian model not known.
