Next-gen Hyundai i20 to debut globally in June, 2026. It will get crossover styling along with a more feature-packed interior.
Hyundai Motor India has recently confirmed that it will launch two new SUVs in this financial year including an all-new midsize SUV and a compact EV. Besides this, the South Korean automaker is also planning to give generational upgrades to the Hyundai Creta SUV and i20 hatchback in 2027.
Both models are currently undergoing testing and have been spied multiple times revealing interesting details. The next-generation Hyundai i20 was recently caught on camera with a more crossover-inspired design.

While Hyundai has not yet revealed the exact launch details, the new Hyundai i20 is expected to make its first public appearance at the FIFA World Cup in June. The football tournament will begin at Mexico City Stadium on June 11 and conclude in New York New Jersey on July 19. The hatchback is expected to hit Indian roads sometime in 2027.
The fresh spy images suggest that the new Hyundai i20 will carry a more crossover-ish stance and feature newly-designed alloy wheels. The test mule appears to be equipped with 17-inch wheels in Pirelli tyres.
Other key highlights include sharply rising window lines, steeper A and C-pillars, a revised rear bumper, redesigned tailgate and new connected LED taillamps. It also features front and rear parking sensors along with a rear-view camera. The 2027 Hyundai i20 will also grow in size.

Significant changes are expected inside the cabin. The new Hyundai i20 will be more premium and tech-laden than the current generation. The hatchback might get a curved display setup and a new steering wheel along with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and enhanced connected car features.

Under the hood, the new 2027 Hyundai i20 is expected to retain the existing 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engines (exclusive to the i20 N-Line). Rumour has it that Hyundai could introduce a new 1.2L turbo petrol engine with the next-generation hatchback.
